Warp 9 wheels ??

So I acquired a 2019 CRF450R and I'm rebuilding a few things before I ride it this season. The stock wheels are in good shape but want to upgrade the hubs and thought why not get a new wheel set. Anyone have some experience with warp 9 wheels or rims? Show some pictures of your setup too !

i dont have any pictures but i have them on my bike and i race off road stuff and they have been great.

I've had a set on my 500AF for years and they've been fine. off road though not moto. a few months ago I got a set of Dubya's base model wheels for my 250 and they are really nice and I think less than the Warp 9's.

I personally wouldn’t do it. For just a few $100 more you can get a60 with faster USA hubs and heavy duty spokes and Nipples which are about bullet proof. Rims and hubs are not something you want to go cheap on.

I definitely cracked the rear rim (warp 9) on my KTM 300sx. I replaced it with a tusk.

Whatever you do, don’t buy DNA wheels, if they’re even around still that is.

I've built 3 wheel sets, 1 with tusk hubs and the other 2 with prowheel hubs/ D.I.D Rims and they have been rock solid. Nothing is in stock though! Thank you all for the replies always appreciated.

Warp 9 lasted 8 riding seasons on my last bike, the stock DID rim bent within the first year I had it.

Spend a little more and buy some Takasagos from Faster USA. Lace them into your stock hubs. I just did this not long ago on my FC-350. There’s still some teams running them in supercross and they’re not “that much” more than the budget brand rims.

I don't know how well there wheels will do, but there hubs and spokes are really high quality in my opinion. I cracked the oem rear hub on my Kx250 last summer and gave warp9 an email about replacement hubs. They were a fair price, got me the color I wanted, and sent them off fast.
For the hubs at least, I say go for it.

I blew up my stock KX450 rear wheel. Replaced it with a Warp9. It’s twice the wheel the stock one was and have had no issues with it. The spokes seem to stay tight longer than the stock one also

We ran Warp 9 wheels on our race bike for the San Felipe 250 and at the end they were square. That’s not to say they wouldn’t hold up well on a moto track but they weren’t up to the task down south. Hitting boulders hidden under the sand at 80 mph will have that effect on things though! 😂

Will send some pics when i get a chance, but i ordered a set for the 1996 CR125 i am restoring. They were the only company i could find that did purple. Went with black wheels and spokes, purple hubs and nipples. They look sick and seem to be quality. Although i wont know until i finish this thing......someday.....

So far Warp9’s have held up on my 350. I only went with them because no one else would do red for me, keep the spokes tight and you should be fine.

I cracked one in the desert years ago, but I have also cracked an oem excel wheel soo.. probably my negligence on tightening spokes? I ran tusk impacts with oem hubs on my yz for years with no issues.

If it were me, I'd turn down and/or powdercoat the stock hubs and lace up to some DID ST-X's.

May end up doing that. I have the Prowheel hubs and D.I.D rims on my 250F with the red hubs black rim combo. A polished hub with some STX rims would make this bike build pretty sick.

I had Warp 9 wheels on my CRF. They were great. I had no issues with them and they looked awesome.

I actually just finished a set last weekend and I'm pleased so far. They look and feel high quality and trued up easy reusing stock hub and spokes. I pretty much just ride single track these days and don't need the absolute strongest wheels, but I have faith these could take a good beating.

They came on this bike I bought from a guy. After a few years I noticed some hairline cracks on rear hub at sprocket bolt area. This could have been caused by my lack of keeping bolts torqued.

Anyway, figured I was screwed and started shopping around and at the same time I reached out to Warp 9 and explained my issue.

They stood by their product and covered it all with zero cost to me and they knew I wasnt the original buyer.

Im confident in them and have no problems for my use.

Thank you all for the awesome replies! I've been looking at the Dubya Edge wheel set to but again not in stock. I know Faster USA was mentioned having a similar wheel set but didn't see it on the web site. I've been looking at D.I.D rims and the stock hubs polished idea. Faster USA does them but anyone know of others ?

That might have been causes by over tightening your spokes based on where the crack is. Look into a spoke torque wrench.

I have run this set (hard to see) of Warp 9s "Elite" rim with Ti (possibly a color choice) hardware for a year or so, and on two bikes. Zero issues to report. Side note: I spoke to the owner on the phone for a while one night talking about riding and life. He is a super cool guy that loves to ride!

I have been talking with motosport on the edge wheels and was told they won't have any until may. Really looking at the Warp9s at this point. Feeling lazy on lacing up my own set on this build, just want to slap on some tires and go. Again thanks for the feed back everyone !

Best bet with FasterUSA is to call them. They don’t have the best website but are really nice and knowledgeable

I have emailed them about getting my OEM hubs polished, with the cost of going that route It might be worth getting new hubs. Then sell the stock wheels. Ordering next week so Im ready when the weather gets nice.

I have a set of the Rims Plus wheels that the ClubMx team runs. They were very reasonable in price considering the DID LTX rims and Bulldog spokes.
