He would still be in 4th. Just a little closer to 3rd.

I've never been a fan of his bam-bam riding style...I have to give Vince credit for never giving up, and giving it all he has.

Vince does ride aggressive, but I’ve never seen him say anything negative about others that ride aggressive against him. He is one of the few that seem to be able to get what he gives and not complain.

Good on him. Is Mosiman still racing, or is he hurt? It sure would be something if Freise could nab 3rd on the season. Who would have imagined that?

EDIT: I see Mosiman's been at every race. For some reason, I thought I remembered him getting injured.

He finshed 3rd in the standings in 2014 behind Bogle and Davalos.

Your memory is far more detailed than mine. Laughing

Either way, I doubt too many people would have picked him for 3rd in 2022. That's why we run the races!

He'll most likely surpass 131pts, but he'll still finish 4th in the standings.

Average finish in 2014 250SX East was 6.78

Average finish in 2022 250SX West is currently 6.57

Based off that, he's not doing that much better.

It's very close, and he is doing a bit better now in 250 points. But additionally, he is very reliably churning out weekly 450 points, which we have no proof that he could have kept up in 2014, which puts old-man version of Friese ahead of young Vincent in my estimation.

Love him or hate him, but the guy is having a real solid year. He impressed me with his 250 rides and speed and is able to get even better on the 450 because off it.

He's definitely a solid rider. Some people wonder why he still has a ride. He's constantly making main events and he gets great starts no matter which class he's riding.

He was one of my sleeper picks for the 250 class. The other one was Jess Pettis, but he unfortunately got injured.

Sure, he's done a lot of questionable moves, but he fights for every position and no-one can fault the guy for that.

His performance on the 450 the last few races really stand out to me. It seems like I remember him typically finishing around the 11th-16th range in previous 450 seasons. In his post race interview, Brayton commented on how well Friese is riding.

He's definitely better than what he has been. Glancing at the RacerX Vault he has been a 12-15th place 450 guy pretty consistently over the years.

Lol I was thinking WTF when I read he could be 2nd, maybe if everyone ahead of him DNF'd the race and they paid 29 points for the win.

Dude has the skill, speed, experience,, and determination for podiums on the 250, and now with a depleted field in the 450s, top fives there...

Instead... Mr Attitude prefers to play rollerball.... hope all that bad press is worth more to him than trophies and bonus checks....

At this point... dude is getting old... he had his chances... and lots of them... with this year being one of his best... and he squandered it, yet again.... kinda like a more boring version of barcia...

It is not cryptic at all.

That's how many Supercross points he has scored in 2022.

Cryptic ~ no… irrelevant ~ yes

I will agree that he’s having a good season, but adding 250 and 450 points is whack. Lol

He raced both classes in 2014 as well, so not really whack for comparison purposes.

He is a similar but better 250 rider now and a significantly better 450 rider.

Dropping to 250 certainly increased his intensity. Ive long been critical of his racecraft, but credit where due he’s grown as a racer in the 450. Genova and Alessi must be stoked.

He would have gained a total of 20-24 points. Which would make it 137-141. 3rd place or like I quickly tossed out there while I was shiting on a job about 2nd place. Dudes riding real good. If he's in 250s next year he has to be in the title talks with another year of being back on 250s and those killer starts.

He didn’t even want to ride a 250, now He’s making more monthly than he’s ever made before, I’m sure he’s happy.

He does say ‘die’ just when he’s taking out other riders, not to himself.

I've always been a sleeper fan of Friese. for some reason I've always classified some racers as "blue collar". And I've always felt Friese fell into this category for me. With Chisolm, Nicoletti, Brayton, showing good speed, there are alot of veteran riders showing they still have what it takes to compete.

Seems the veterans you mention are doing better than amateur "the next James Stewarts" that come and go from year to year. Friese and his contemporaries seem as though they could race and be competitive for as long as they wish. Where are the fast amateur graduates?

Weston Peick isn't around anymore for him to fight with, so there's that.

The young man is doing great. But how many guys are out in both classes right now ? 6 factory riders left and thats not counting the disaster at Butler Brothers.
