He's lucky to have walked/run away from that!! That sucks, his potential was higher being back with MC. But now with lasergate, he might been lucky to have a one race deal!!

I wonder if he caught his foot slightly on the jump face due to a scrub?

We've seen that a few times fairly recently - most notably Zach Bell at one of the SX rounds this year and Cairoli at the Latvian GP last year. Not the best rider error to make, that's for sure. Hopefully he's OK.

There's an existing thread on this, but I couldn't watch the video. This is now the official "vf42 attempts flying" thread.

Glad he had the presence of mind to get off the backside of that jump. Could have been way worse. Anybody know how he's doing? Glad that didn't go worse.

Man that was nasty and scary! Hope VF is ok from that.

Speaking of which........RV sorta did the same thing ( feet off the pegs ) on the same jump. In the second 450 moto watch the coverage at exactly the 7:05 mark when RV gets his feet ripped off the pegs. I looked for it on video because I was standing below the jump and watched it happen......and believe me it looked a lot scarier in real life than it did on TV. Put my stomach in my throat.

.

Flying through the air with the greatest of Friese!

Damn that had to hurt.

Good think he was not on the Munn KTM or we would have a Internet meltdown....

Get well Vince!

I must've been standing right beside you, it was pretty high on the "butt pucker" scale for sure

Second time he hit the dirt in a few days.

First was at PIR Thursday night, then this.

Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

Karma baby.

Cool story bro, but what does this thread have to do with MCR or Ohlins?

We get it, you suck MB1's balls and trash Ohlins everywhere you can.

this from a guy who couldnt tell the valving from a kayaba , showa, wp or ohlins...
have you ever taken a shock apart from all the brands...
have you ever taken forks apart.....
doubtful as you would then realize just how similar they all are....

MA800 is close to the top five in points, so how would you explain him being ahead of 35/33 riders that are using kayabas, wp and showas with "better technology"...well...please give a detailed explaination...

makita 124, again a guy who couldnt tell the valving from a kayaba , showa, wp or ohlins...

So what causes something like this to happen?
The obvious thought is that he hit a kicker, but the bike is flying straight, not butt high.

People think it's from the feet being dragged off the peg in a rut going up the jump. That makes sense to me. And some say this can happen as well scrubbing and in a rut going up the jump. I would think when the peg folds up when the pressure folds up the peg, your foot would just fly off like that as well.

Probably had headshake leading into the face of the jump.

Anybody know if he will be back this weekend under the mcr awning?

There are rollers on the uphill now. I do this same maneuver every time I encounter rollers on the track.
