Yep, was nothing short of horrible. 1 Lap of the second heat, then 25 Minutes of random crap I don't even remember.

And they didn't interview RD and JS, what the fuck are they thinking?

I think they do an ok job and I am happy to see it on national tv but they leave out some important details.

I agree. Compared to speed it sucked, but compared to what we have had in years past it was good.

There is nothing left for me to do than put this- x2.

RV coming through the pack, JS/RV last laps- nothing. Instead they are showing some random guys cruising around for five laps.

So they don't show the whole podium interviews, and showing the race on CBS is suppose to provide more exposure for the sponsors? This is even a step backwards from last years horrible CBS coverage, no way that broadcast brought in new fans, how could they tell what was going on, half the race was during the commercials.

If they stay with that level of broadcast I'm not even going to watch. They need some sort of adviser from the moto world to help them with their broadcast IMO.

They would have interviewed them, Speed is the one who takes all the video but CBS cut it out for the broadcast.

Can I bitch and complain about how bad the coverage sucked if my local CBS station didn't broadcast the race? I watched it on Justin.tv and thought they did a horrible job editing the damn thing. I'm sure it's a hard job, but it happens every single week. Unreal.

I'm just bummed we have 2 more weeks of CBS in a row. Didn't know that until the show today... depressing.

It sucked. I'm not even sure why I watch the coverage on CBS as it's shit all of the time.

Great race, horrible broadcast. The producers need to be fired.

are the cameramen the same guys that do the speed coverage? cant imagine it was...... seemed like the cameras were panned in so close you really couldn't see what the hell was going on in parts of the race....... the roof top angles were just as bad and were actually panned back so far it was hard to follow.

i am getting really tired of hearing "its better than what we used to have" (yes i was around for those days too)........... it is 2012!!!!!!! everything should be better than it used to be.

today's CBS coverage was absolutely the most horrible coverage i have seen in the past 3 years. absolutely terrible!!!!!

Why can't they just lengthen the CBS program to two hours instead of one? We will never get a decent broadcast if only one hour show. There was nothing on CBS worth watching the hour prior to the race so just add an hour to the show, showing ALL the heat, lcq, and main event racing action and if there is a half hour of time left, show the fluff.

If they aren't doing it right, they need to know that. They lose if it's not broadcast at all.

I'm pretty sure the camera and production crew is the same regardless of the network. They just edit it a little differently. I don't understand why they seem to think they need to fill so much time with random stuff instead of just showing the race. I understand they have sponsor and commercial commitments but when not at a commercial they should be showing the race.

Your attitude is why they never make improvements. Don't tell them that they're doing it wrong just bend over and take it.

On the positive side...future CBS coverage can't possibly get any worse than it was today.

It wasn't worth reserving time to watch it. It was that bad IMO.

I agree, but realistically what can we do about it?
1/22/2012 10:27am
Yea, it cold have been better. Camera angles were too tight at times, action in the wrong places.

you know why? because the Job Posting for the Camera crew says this "Bachelors in Mass communications from an acreditted university required" what it does not say is "motocross afficianado required"

So, the moral of the story is, Life Goes On.

o bah dee o bah dah life goes onnnnnnn la la la la Life Goes on....

E-mails and phone calls will help. Bitching here might not do much, but it will add to the effort. I remember people complaining a few years back about not getting the full coverage because of NASCAR or something like that and it never happened again. The fans do have a voice.
