Bob was part BamBam, part Villipoto, part RC, part Magoo all rolled into one.

When I see riders that don't know the history, the rivalries, and the guts that these early legends had it makes me want to just open hand slap the snot out of them.

Making comments about how they look like c riders etc. Just stfu.

Look at that picture right there as hannah and smith go at it on ill handling, poorly suspended bikes with drum brakes and no safety seats.

That is as awesome to anybody knowledgeable about what they were riding as any pic of guys now on water cooled 450 fuel injected 4 strokes.

Here's mine. It's a big framed picture. Apologies, as my pic is a bit skewed sideways and cropped.

Got this awesome Dunlop poster about 10 years ago. Knew what town he lived in, so after a bit of Google stalking, found his business number and called him up. Talked to him about 15 minutes, and I mentioned I also had other Dunlop posters with Rick Johnson and Jeff Ward. He said I should use the Johnson poster for toilet paper!

This is my favorite Bob Hannah picture. It's Bob and Ricky Racer at Bob's house after a week of elk hunting together. This was back in the early 80's when Bob was still riding for Honda.

My favorite photo of Bob Hannah, because I took it. Red Bud Trans USA 1980.

That's also the winner for me.

Growing up in the UK in the 70s as I got into MX it was obvious RDC was the man. Then I picked up a copy of MXA and suddenly we had 2 of "the man" RDC & the Rocket.

Just my 2 cents worth

I noticed a cool pic of Bob and Marty Smith, Did Bob ever comment on the loss of Marty? Great pics!

That was the first motocross magazine I ever had. My dad gave it to me and I carried it to school every day until it was in tatters. Finally found a copy on eBay a few months back. Took me forever to figure out the magazine, month, and year as I only remembered that pic.

A long time moto enthusiast gets to hang out with a legend.

I wonder how long it took before Bob got up the courage to ask for Lenny's autograph?

1977

Didn't he race stock bikes for '77 outdoors, due to chain issues? He almost won that 250 title against Tony D. if I recall.

My dad’s shots. We were in LA in ‘79 and he said he was a foreign reporter and got on the infield for a while.

Incorrect, pizza and iced tea! I never saw Bob drink a beer while I was at his place.

I've got an old interview with Bob somewhere in my collection where he is asked what his favorite food is and he replies "I could live on Lipton tea with honey and lemon".
