Last year he rode for 2 or 3 MX2 teams and then fell off the map without a ride. I dont know what happend all there. This year he is riding a 350 for a german team in the adac masters. He is riding a 350 because of money and not having a good 250 or team. Now Its look like he will make his GP debut in the MXGP!

Last year may have hurt him this year by not racing in the EMX250 where he belongs..

Looking forward to seeing how Jed Beaton does in the deep sand, hopefully he can put in a couple of good races and cement a ride for next year

Cyril is not a skinny 16 year old anymore, he got rather big the last few years. I think that's why he's in MX1 already.

We are camped by Lierop.. rained most of the night here and still showers.

|

8/3/2017 2:48 AM

I'll drive by Lierop and Valkensward tomorrow and think about making a quick stop at the tracks there to take a look over the fence, because I never been there before. I'm just wondering if it's easy to access there.

Wet sand is easier to ride or not? Have no experience with sand

Wish I could be there this year! I also wish Lierop could be on the GP calender as well, love that place.

Anyone know what's happening with Lierop?

Have they 'saved' it as a track?

PhilG?

Track is closed for MX for now.
No races, no practice.
Future is unsure but it doesn't look good.

Bloody.

And to think, from what I gathered, much of the reason given for it's closure, and probable demise, was the conduct of dickhead spectators / campers there. F**kwits that ruin it for real enthusiasts through their idiocy. It's the sort of thing that just hands those that want us 'gone', a reason to pound a final nail in the coffin.

No, it is because of noise complaints from a few living in the area.
Same old, same old. People buy a house near a MX track which is there since the late 70's and within a few years start complaining about noise. Make it a big deal and the place is closed down.

|

8/3/2017 9:28 AM

MX2 will be interesting from 2nd place down cool

Why? You're thinking that Pauls has this one in the bag? He's no Herlings....

Prado, Vlaanderen, Boogers would disagree...

|

8/3/2017 10:07 AM

Looking forward to the GP this weekend, no idea why exactly but i am so dang hyped up about it. I got this feeling that the 450 class is gonne be a dogfight 84 vs 222!

Pretty cool to see Jago Geerts make his "pro" debut also, he's been hanging with some MX 2 gp riders during the year in the dutch series so that could get interesting, hopefully easy points for him!

Exactly. Happens at a bunch of tracks.

Spoke with a chairmen of a club that organises bigger mx races (dutch nationals etc.) at their track that they get checked up on sound levels by people who actually don't live anywhere near the track but do this from a green/environmental reason. He said they had official complaints by people who actually lived over 50 miles from the track.

Jeremy Seewer for the MX2 win.
He's good in the sand.
He got second behind Anstie last year.

And two years ago Jonass went 2-2 behind Anstie's 1-1 smile 3 or 4 guys can win MX2.

Yes, of course it was noise complaints from those that lived in the area.

But, in Motocrossplanets site - or another Dutch site /Facebook site I checked at the time of the closure announcement - they said also part of the noise complaints was down to noise from a camping area that was something like only 50 metres from housing.

Combinations of bike noise and Ratbag noisey conduct, make for plenty of complaints. Ironically, at the closure announcement time, here on Vital, a few posted that noise from a nearby highway was more prevalent than noise from the track - perhaps one of them was you, Jefro?

A friend of mine had exactly the same situation, with his private track a few years ago - he was able to show the freeway noise was much higher than his well muffled bike noise, and defeated the new neighbours that just wanted to be pricks about things.

the funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it

I'm glad I got the MXGP-TV package. I'm ready for some serious sand track MX. I liked Loket but those fast tracks seem to be hard to pass on and easier to ride. Sand tracks seem to change alot during race and slight mistakes can be costly even if you don't crash.
