I was up at 3am excited to watch my favorite race of the year but there's just something about the MXGP presentation that just doesn't capture the same excitement as the Nationals or Supercross. I can't put my finger on what it is because the racing was good. Not sure if it's the audio (you don't hear the bikes as much), Malin's commentary, or what, but something is missing. Maybe it's the track this year (looks like a basic practice track). Either way, I'll be up at 3am again tomorrow morning to watch!

My favorite race of the year - maybe its the era I grew up in, one of the most important, honorable events in all of sports

Your damm lucky Villopoto and happy JS7 are not at the event.
MXON is a hell of an event to visit. Its just so much fun with everything going on. The racing, the people, the beer. Smile

and btw, you are damn lucky Desalle, herlings, roczen, schiffer, bobryshev etc etc are not at the event.. Wink

Imagine the damage Belgium team would make if desalle was riding.

Can't see the USA on the podium tomorrow, 4 or 5th possible. If they get on the 3rd step they should be happy. Already the excuses are lining up, " the are suffering from jet lag" " they should have come earlier", " should have sent Canard instead of Dungey"...They are out of thier league riding in Europe.

The track was prepped perfectly, we walked it yesterday, and after the rain, it was ideal.. All they do is re face the jumps, which the did after practice... It's Moto Cross.. It's supposed to be bumpy.. And Fast Freddy Noren is the swedish weak link.. As I expected. Martin was fast when it was flat, tomac was on it, dungey gated behind an Mx2 guy on a 350, and a privateer, and had nothing for either of them

I wish they were. Imagine US with Villo, Tomac on 450F and Stew was on a 250F taking on the best in the world. Injuries suck!!!!

Herlings was on a 250F while TC222 was on a 250F...... I do not think AC222 does not get the respect he deserves by Euro fans. Will always be less than SE 72 and lucky Herlings is not in the class. Its a damm shame.

Granted we had very bad luck but I would say that the US "domination" of MX is over. Well, perhaps has been for a while.
1 on 1 Dungey was beat, don't think Martin could have beat buck tooth, and though I do feel Eli was the fav in MX 3 don't know that he would have won against all the best Euro's.
So many imports have been champions in AMA when they cam over the pond to compete KROC, Reed.....
Tomorrow will be a better test of our overall ability. ,
Granted country for country I think we are still the best. But we are bigger than France or Germany. But to say US MX racers are the best....
Tomorrow I think we should win the overall but doubt we will win individual top of the box. Eli I think is the best bet for that.

GO RV smoke the Euro's!!!!!!!!
Go USA! Win the overall!!!!!!

Who was the MX2 rider and who was the privateer? cause il fucking gurantee you paulin and van horebeek (the only 2 that finished ahead of him) are not an mx2 rider and or a privateer. Look at dungeys fastest lap in the moto, faster than the entire mx2 class and faster than all the privateers.

Stop your bullshit bud.

I love how people are saying "shoulda sent canard not dungey" when dungey has the best result for team USA thus far. Maybe everyone should be saying "shoulda sent canard not tomac" or "shoulda sent bagget not martin".

Dungey rode great and so did martin and tomac.

Eh?

Cairoli gets a massive amount of respect in Europe. Im not sure why you would think otherwise.

I'm still holding Team USA as favorites to win tomorrow. Starts will be key. Tomac going 1-1 I'm not so sure about. Strijbos is a really good starter. I have no doubt Tomac would beat him straight up, but if Strijbos gets out a head and Tomac is buried down the field, he has no chance. Passing riders like Frossard, Wilson, Moss, Gajser, Tonus on they way wont be easy and that is just the Open class riders.

Tonkov.. Mx2 rider for Ice one husqvarna, on a 350, and filip bengtson, private ktm.. Van hoorebeek wiped out tonkov after he passed dungey, and bengtson fell in the turn before the finish.. Sorry for being there watching it dude.. And if nagl hadn't been 25th off the start, he would have been third

100% true.Nagl was on fire!

I expect US coming out strong and bitch slapping the field. Qualy does not win a Chamberlain trophy.

This will be three years running...the first two I could understand, this one not so much. U.S. riders are no longer the fastest riders in the world.

Funny thing is Nagl was 14th after lap 1. Dungey was 3rd. Nagl finished 4th, 6sec after Dungey and 10sec after Paulin. Hell of a ride!

Only 4 riders over 50km/h and it was Nagl, Van Horebeek, Bengtsson and Tonkov.

We will see what happens tomorrow, no privateer is gonna be beating Dungey il tell ya that. And i wouldnt disagree that nagl would have been third, but he wasnt so maybe i can argue. Cairoli worked his way past the pack in mx2 with a bad start so no excuse for nagl. and enough of the `could have` or would have bullshit. i go by results.

But dungey gated right behind them, and a rider of his alleged calibre should have just motored by and been gone.. He didn't and Paulin and jvh did. Martin did the same, had nothing for kullas, who is a on private ktm team.. He isn't a top 10 Mx2 guy here.. Luke clout passed martin twice..

But tomorrow is another day and that's what makes mx what it is, and the difference is that now no one here thinks that it's a foregone conclusion. Tomac rode though the lower order with ease, and looked fast, but was still 2.5 secs off stribos, but he is the only guy who looks like he is on his game today

We need to stop grooming our tracks so much, I think that's the big difference. Our guys also need to get pissed off and ride like they have something to prove!!!

I hate talking to euro people.

Always so biased.

Yeah man your right, martins not a top 10 guy in MXGP just cause he couldnt make a move on a not top 10 guy there. Look at martins best lap time, compare it to the field. I think 2 or 3 guys were faster, maybe less not sure.

Im canadian, im cheering for canada. We made the A main so im happy. Im a non biased point of view.

Euro guys are super fast, americans arent as slow as you say though.

He wont even qualify for Moto GP dude.

And you need to stop talking shit about a whole continent. What have I (and the rest of Europe) ever done to you? Just because a handful of guys don't share your opinion.

And you need to stop talking shit about a whole continent. What have I (and the rest of Europe) ever done to you? Just because a handful of guys don't share your opinion.

Im not talking shit about the continent, both my parents are european. But just look at some of the european guys here and what they say. One of the guys said USA will struggle with a top 10 overall because of how fast the europe guys are.

Then you need to phrase your opinions in a different way. The way you explain it makes it a lot easier to trash talk you back. And say the exact same to you as you just said about us. There are a lot of people like the ones you explain, equally many on both side of the matter in fact. Not bagging on you, just stating that there are assholes everywhere and you make yourself look like one when you say shit like "I hate talking to euro people".

Wait, where on this topic is there a canadian saying canada is the best and nobody compares?

Im not american bro

Ive stood up for both sides. Both have the best riders in the world, id say europe has the fastest rider* in the world (cairoli)

I just hate reading what some of these euro guys are saying like how Martin aint a top 10 MXGP guy, or that Dungey isnt as good as a privateer, or that tomac is fast but doesnt match the euro guys speed.

Like most americans here are saying they dont have the fastest riders anymore. You guys dont understand that MXGP has faster riders because theres a shit load of riders from different countrys, USA is just 1 country. If i had to choose a country with the fastest riders, it would be USA. If i had to choose the continent with the fastest riders, it would be europe.

Hope i got my point across.
