Try to keep it to good memories

I remember when this was considered an awesome intermission show (kinda miss it these days too)

I remember when there didn't use to be animated track maps. You didn't know what the track was going to look like ahead of time so as you walked through the dark hall in the stadium and caught your first glimpse of the track, that feeling of seeing the track for the first time and trying to figure it out in your head.

I remember when this gear came out and I thought it was the coolest gear ever created in the history of gear.

I remember the first time I saw Ricky Carmichael ride by during practice at Washougal on his CR250 in 2002. Most star-struck I've ever been.

I remember when the guy in your photo lived with us at Lake Sugar Tree and painted Gary and Darlene's house for a place to stay.

I remember being at Mt Morris for amateur day and seeing Damon Bradshaw ripping up the track on a YZ80. My first "star struck" moment. He was in a factory looking for the day box van and had 3 guys in Yamaha shirts on tearing into his bike every time he came off the track.

I remember standing in front of Cafe du Monument at Namur and see Eric Geboers on his HRC Honda 500 keeping it WFO while going sideways on the tarmac but somehow saving it. Everybody there was shaking his head in disbelieve of what just happened.

I remember being at lake sugartree one year in the pro pit, honda came in and flagged off a place for their boxvans.

Next,a bunch of wasted guys pullin, wad up the baners and park, unloading beaters that made beaters look good.

One is chugging whiskey out the bottle and yelling.

The honda vans show up and confront whiskey pete,he aint scared.

Gary comes over and says "honda guy had this reserved and says you took down the banners, does he look like a liar?"

Whiskey pete says " yep,if I ever saw one" ,honda parks elsewhere and whiskey pete gets on a beater,

Goes around the pond and launches bike and self into the pond. They were entertaining all weekend.

That's a pretty good story hillbilly, too bad JLaw doesn't race anymore so there's no funny/crazy stories like rolling the rental and other stuff these days. You have any pics of said dudes airing into the pond?

I remember when designated driver meant someone had to stay sober enough to find the truck at 3:00 AM.

I remember when dirt bikes were common.

I remember when people said please, thank you and may I be excused.

I remember when dirt bikes shifted on the right and braked on the left like god intended.

I remember when gas was 25 cents per gallon, a brand new cr125 was under $700 otd, mx practice was $5, race fees were $10 for first class, $5 for any additional class, there were 3 motos per class and the good old rubber band starts with 80 bikes on the starting line.

I remember Doug Henry racing Hangtown with his bike smoking like a chimney and thinking how bad I wanted a YZ400F!

I remember watching RC and MC doing a parade lap together in San Diego and thinking that MC was in trouble!

I remember when I lived on the outskirts of Reno and could jump on my bike after work, roll out the garage, jump the curb across the street and ride until I ran out of gas.

I remember when I could afford this shit!

I remember being dropped of on the HWY 126 and walking through the sand wash at Indian dunes to not pay spectator fee on race day.

I remember taking pics of MX Keid when he was on an 80 in the hills of Thousand Oaks when he would come and hang with my buddy.

I remember meeting this kid on an 80 when I was riding in Canyon Country. His name was 'Mouse" or something Smile

I remember when Marty Moates shocked the world and became the first American to win the 500cc USGP in 1980. And on a privateer LOP backed YZ465 at that!
