With the speed Roczen has shown lately, I think he has the pre-2017-crash speed and aggressiveness back, sans the fading on long, hot days. With the ability to rest this off season (I hope he doesn’t do Monster Cup for his own sake), what do you guys think of his chance to win the SX title in 2020?

I would love to see Tomac finally get it, but Roczen can win the whole shebang if he finally conquers this mystery illness IMO.

He could win. We’ve got a couple extremely fast guys who haven’t shown much consistency though. Anderson and Webb are the only ones out of the current crop of title contenders who have been able to show consistency.

The thing with SX is it’s really hard to pass on most tracks. Whoever is able to remain injury free and get solid starts consistently should win it.

As with every other year, it’s tomacs to lose. I’m sure he’ll find a way to butcher it so there’s a fair chance Kenny can win. I’d put my money on Marv though.

I think KR can win it, and very well might, but same as the OP, would like to see ET get one.

I think Osborne is gonna be one hungry, and very determent rider next yr, SX and MX. I'm not his biggest fan, but love his never quit attitude. If you can call him one at all. He's the dark horse.

You can never count Anderson or Merv out, among others.

I love KR. Seriously. Dude is awesome and I'd love to see him win a championship again, but he hasn't even won a supercross race since his first big wreck. With the likes of Tomac and Webb also looking to be hungry and in the mix, I'm skeptical Roczen will take it.

Having said that, I hope he proves me wrong.

I think we're looking at a Webb repeat. The guy will be solid. Great starts, top 3's all year. Will be tough to beat. I don't think we'll see another consistent run of 'beast mode' from Tomac, UNTIL he's too far out of the points race. He has learnt how trying than in the past has cost him and won't want to make that mistake again.

I hope so, but previous seasons have taught me that it is best to wait until half way thru the series before predicting who might win it Smile

Nobody has ever won their first premier title this late in their career. Roczen and Tomac will make history if one of them win a 450 SX title.

I'll side with the history and say neither gets a 450 SX title, as crazy as it sounds.

Out of the first 6 guys Webb is probably the least I want to see winning. But after that sx season it's hard to bet against him. His starts were/are disgustingly good and he gave everything he had every weekend.
I'm a big Kenny fan and wish him all the best, but god damn, I'll root for anyone that goes out there and gives us the best show.

I have been wrong about any title predictions in sx in the last 5 years, so... But I'd say the sx title goes down between 3 and 94.

As long as they all get through the side show that is SX, and make it to the MX season, fit, healthy, and strong. I'm happy.
TBH, Couldn't really care less who finishes on top.

Finishing off outdoors strong would be a big step in his comeback. I think taking second in points should be his goal this week.

Well both involve dirt bikes so they have that in common.

Some people just aren't interested in supercross. Doesn't make them fair-weathered fans.

Let's first see who makes it through the off season injury free for A1 before crowing champions.

It's impossible not to consider KR94 a serious 2020 SX threat. His rapid ascent of late proves that he is 1. Feeling better 2. Can beat Tomac straight up ...when it's not stupid hot. And SX is lots of things, but stupid hot is not one of them.

If he is able to stay healthy, historically his biggest challenge, he's got very good odds IMO.

Anderson? Consistent? Webb is hurt(so far). Tomac's to lose. I'd pick AC over Webb, but then anyone but Webb.

This season was the first that lived up to the hype in a long time IMO. 250's , 450's indoors and out... all was awesome.

Def know what you mean though.

You're right about that, it makes them big time losers.

I think Roczen has a good shot because his late season speed in the nationals shows that he's getting his full speed back. Once he gets some rest and trains for the upcoming season, I think we'll see the Kenny we all know in 2020.
