TexasVet Started a new thread Tomac, AC and Kawasaki vindicated?
10/8/2019 7:35am While the debate still rages about rider participation and results and costs, the Anderson/ Cooper crash is wholly ignored. I submit it's the most important. While I decry the Tomac/AC/Kawasaki decision, it seems shrewd and exactly right. Let's say(for a minute) that Anderson tore a knee and Cooper had a career ending injury. The debate would then be - we...

TexasVet Added a reply to 500 two stroke /500AF
10/6/2019 5:25am I have. They made 300 of these bikes per year? Really? I've seen a couple around Texas, it's a big place. Most of those recently. So, I'll ask again 300 per year? Roughly-one per day(roughly)(for argument sake). Anyone have proof of this? This guy owes me nothing. With 6000 out there and their seeming value, where are they? Service Honda...

TexasVet Added a reply to 23 Years ago, Rules Were Changed to Protect Our Sport From the Impending Emissions Banning of The 2 Stroke
10/6/2019 4:53am Ok well, I'm not really sure of your message. And while the "banning" of 2 strokes has not been finalized, it's proceeding albeit slowly. Yes, I can buy a 2 stroke bike or string trimmer...for now. Space X announced moon vacations by 2023! UPS FAA approval of it's drone delivery fleet. Progress man. And the 2 stroke? How about 4...

10/5/2019 4:40am I'm sorry but for 20 years, you have produced 300 500 AF's? Per year? If not, 6000 of what? Btw, would really like to see the frame welding.

10/5/2019 4:26am Atta boy! Encourage more people to quit! You and the collectors can meet in a smaller closet(we don't have phone booths anymore). Next time you encourage someone to quit, look around. Or the next track that closes. Or the numbers at a local race. Or watch California implode. Or.......arrogant ass.

10/3/2019 6:11pm Yep. Have Husky and Yamaha provide stock demos or(whatever) and have the riders carry their suspension. Even with first class airline tickets, you could do this for waayy less than $300k. $20k? And for all you thumbs down guys.... The results would be about the same. Flame on!

10/3/2019 6:05pm Surely someone must have made a budget for this trip and when (or if) the presented the 300k number, why didnt people like "hell no" that and figured out a better way. I mean yeah, they are factory riders but I´m pretty sure that IceOne Husqvarna could provide Jason and Zach bikes for the event and they could bring their own suspension if necessary and so could Kemea Yamaha for Cooper. They are all riders under the same manufacturers and if I was at Husqvarna HQ and had the option of either shipping bikes from the US to this event...

10/1/2019 6:23pm Well, a bit more civil, I appreciate that. And while some intentions are noble, a lot of collectors(not all) are there to run those prices up, take a profit and never look back. That's ok. But sure doesn't "preserve" our sport. Example: Our first bike was a 1969 candy apple red Honda 50. Would love to hang one from my...

10/1/2019 5:56pm What I've been trying to say- Let's consider buying 2 2020's for the same price of the 2007. That's where I just can't understand.

TexasVet Started a new thread Would you buy a cr500 considering parts availability?
10/1/2019 8:24am I read (MXA I think) that the nos cr500 parts supply has been depleted(because of the AF craze). Assuming that is true, would you buy one vs. a kx500?

9/30/2019 6:13pm Well, here's how I see it: Our "best riders' were not there because money is more important than anything else. And while your perspective is laudable and credible, nothing could be further from reality. Every rider/country/ team relished putting the wood to the Americans. And always will. I look forward to the day we can repay in kind.

TexasVet Added a reply to Brand new 2007 CR250 for sale
9/30/2019 5:51pm Ok. Fair enough. So why then, does a 2007 cr250(ultra common and depreciates) appreciate at twice the price?

9/30/2019 8:52am So, you are looking for a collector or museum that is willing to overpay for something they can never use except to look at. So, why do they have to overpay? So, your market really, is to find someone willing to overpay? I guess that is simple, obvious...really.
TexasVet Added a reply to Brand new 2007 CR250 for sale
9/30/2019 5:17am Ok. What is the "target market"? With all respect, the target market is people willing and able to pay twice the original price of a bike that is at the most average in performance and availability and 17 years old with the accompanying technology? Great condition for sure but that aside, why? Yes, I know there are circles of people...

9/29/2019 2:27pm If it were that easy, wouldn't he do that now? Why not sale the land for millions instead? I have a plane. There is a small airport 1 mile from my house. Used to keep my plane there. I asked the owner why he didn't build more hangars and really make the airport busier and sell gas and such. He...
