He's done with racing. There's a decent little interview with him in the latest edition of Freerider MX.

If that's true.......it's kind of sad really. I know some dudes don't like Josh ( he isn't my favorite either )......but the dude is/was a good contender for top 5's and 10's. Cool to watch him ride.....and a real bummer if he's really stepping away. Seems like a lot of fast dudes just walk away or can't find rides any more.

He's still sick and Larry Brooks is still on "family time" according to the team that let both go.

RCH never put out a press release either and you can't ever find anyone that will answer what happened.
It gets old being called all sorts of names when you try to piece together what happened, but how can journalists etc really blame the fans for doing so when that seems to be the only way to get anything, unless it deals with race results.

Some do care what's happening with the teams.

I agree with you Choppy.... and for all RCH's perceived professionalism, how does that even happen?

Is this Freerider MX interview online?

i know journos brush this kind of stuff off with 'who cares' etc, but it frustrates me when things aren't cleared up. These riders get swept under the table the second they're not in the night show, wether its their decision like Hannys or not, like Tedesco. I'd like to see interviews with Hanny, Tedesco, Pourcel, Stroupe.. I'd be interested to hear not just their plans, but how they are adapting to life without racing. These are intriguing human interest stories to me.

x2. Totally agree. I would be very interested myself to read any one of those interviews. See if they still have any passion to still ride, and get the lowdown on what really happened.

The RCH thing went down because of some things that went down at Zwarte Cross last year. Josh attended the crazy Holland Motocross/Music festival and as is typical of the event some things got out of hand. I believe he was seen riding virtually naked and even pulled a Carla and stopped mid-race to have a beer.

While these kind of shenanigans are all in the spirit of the event, some of RCH's corporate sponsors (and i believe RC in particular) did not find it humorous and believed it reflected poorly on the team. It was a matter of lose Josh or lose the sponsors so Hansen went.

Hansen deserves all the bad he gets.....if he wants back in he's gonna have to want it more than JLaw because JLaw was in the same boat BUT...JLAW won a championship and many races......Josh just showed signs".......seems like Hansen is trying to mooch off Twitch......who, even though I can't stand his "role" has really marketed himself and done well....

I'm sure Zwarte Cross was just icing on the cake. Josh didn't present a very professional image and the team was looking for factory backing. No factory wanted to touch Hansen I'm sure. It was all good when H&H were paying for their own bikes and getting them tuned by someone who worked with Hansen, but to make the program legit you have to cut the stuff others view as baggage.

Professionalism? From a team that, what, two years ago had skank strippers pole dancing under their tent... The RC thing was in the works long before zwarte cross, and Josh had been there for the last few years... You'd think if Carey really 'loved the guy' like he says he did Josh, he would've warned him not to go. It was just a corporate sell out to get rid of Hansen, period. Carey Hart, I give the guy props for what he's done, but he's nothing more than a perfect example of an American corporate hypocrite... He's a puppet now. Ironically enough, Hansen is still getting more press than RC's riders, and RC looks like a jackass for his preseason hype for Tickle, 'he should be a contender', get the fuck outta here. Maybe they'll be better preperated next year.

God forbid the team try and move forward in the sport right? Josh rode a Suzuki all the way up until his last second deal with the remains of L&M, that's no coincidence. Even after release Carey still continued to support Josh in the best way he could.

And holy shit, God forbid Hart allow the people he hired to run his team so he can go out and be on tour with his wife and child. What the fuck is that guy even thinking? MX is the center of the universe right?

What up Slipdog!!!! Hell yeah I like Hansen! Crazy dude... most of these donkeys have never even met Josh, but they sure do know a lot about him!

Shawn142.... I'm not even gonna say it............. but, that Suzuki he was ridin, it wasn't Hart's... that 'deal' with L&M, there was no deal... and please let us know how Hart was supporting Josh up until the 'non-deal'... And let me tell you what Hart was thinking... Dodge Dollars. I guess I don't blame him. I guess you missed my implied idiom... here's something you might get: The pot calling the kettle black.

For the guy comparing Hansen to Lawrence... c'mon dude, that is apples and oranges. Hansen may have done some rock-star borderline bad taste party stuff (from what I have read), but nothing compared to J-Law. I think we all get bummed when someone with that much talent doesn't respect their career enough and wish to be in his shoes and turn it around, but Hansen and Lawrence shouldn't be bundled for their behavior, two WAY different levels.

I thought the bloody bar pic he had wadded it on a BMX bike. LOL. Shows you how much I don't know. I am not saying Hansen is a saint and I clearly don't know him. I just don't see him rolling rental cars, arrests, getting banned by the AMA, pulling a Mike Tyson, etc. He just seems to do the things more like misguided youth vs. no-hope youth.

So do you think that for Hart to prove he loves the kid/guy that he has to support him/give him rides forever, even if it makes no sense team wise or business wise? If he doesn't give Hansen an ongoing contract then he's a hypocrite?

Josh was/is a phenomenal talent. Crazy how fast a guy with that much talent can just not be in supercross all of a sudden.

You're assuming the strippers were skanks, you don't know them.

That's pretty cool.
I hope he scores a decent ride for the event and comes through with good results.

stop being silly... Hansen had a two year deal with Hart... Hart's a hypocrite for firing Hansen for acting the same way he always has. Hart has nothing to prove to anybody. But, if you're gonna have strippers swingin from poles in your pits, and have a 'Fuck you racer establishment' attitude, sell tattoos to hells angels for a living, and make videos of Josh acting like Josh... you're a fuckin hypocrite for firing the dude for partyin' with a bunch of fans... or a sellout, whatever you want to call it. Maybe Hart is 'changed man', and regrets his teams appearance a couple years ago, but it doesn't change the fact that he fired a dude for living up to the lifestyle that he's been promoting and profiting from.... not a hypocrite? OK...

I don't know Josh, but saw him a breakfast before a SX race in 2012.

The guy was remarkably gracious to fellow riders, teams, fans and was especially kind to the servers at the hotel restaurant.

He was not paid to be a nice guy, it just seemed to come naturally.

And he had two top 5 finishes with RV, RD, CR, JS, DM all on the gate in 2012 before struggling with injuries.
