I don't think he will return either. But IMOP I think if he did & wanted his number,they would hold it for him. Like him or not he puts people in seats. The average person who comes to an SX probably has no clue who Zack is.

I kind of suggested that already a month ago and was sort of accused of being an idiot. I still say that if Dungey told the AMA to let Zach have the #5, they would let him, but what do I know.

Stewart not announced his retirement, Dungey yes. If I to be a rider who want a single digit number, I would request the 5, never the 7 if JS7 has not announced his retirement and not for more than a year without competing.

If he wanted #7, he would have been out there. Give it to a person who earned it this year. Doubt ama cares, and I guess James doesn't either. Earn the number, simple.

Yeah, they will break the rules for him no doubt. It's 100% wrong, but they'll do it anyway. Osborne deserves 7. Personally if I were him, I still wouldn't take it - comes with too much baggage.

I was disappointed he didn't get to run 1 this weekend, especially given he's moving up and won't have a chance chance to run it next year.

That's a good reason for someone to take the number, get rid of the baggage that current number has. Reward the racer who earned it, if he wants it. It's only a number, Zach won't carry baggage,drama with it. He earned it. His choice.

If James wanted the number he should have raced. He didnt. Now its up for grabs. End of story. He has not even been seen in a year. Hes retired if he likes it or not.
