Parks are open. Cars fill the parking lot. People are riding bicycles in the park more than ever. In Ohio the governor is encouraging people to go to parks and maintain social distancing 6ft apart. So........ should every track call themselves a motocross park? Parks are allowed to stay open and golf courses are open. The only problem I see is god forbid an injury happen and someone takes a bed needed for a COVID19 patient for their motocross injury. It’s my idea but I’m not sure if I’m 100% into it yet so go easy on me lol. Just wanted some opinions. Stay safe everyone.

Tracks in MO taking reservations for 7 riders in 2 hour blocks. That allows for staff of 3, to totals 10 ppl to comply with the gatherings limit.

I think this is brilliant. I don't understand why everyone is shutting down, they just need to think outside of the box (as long as you are not in stay at home state or county). I am now in a stay at home as of yesterday (we have 19 cases LOL), and I have seen many state troopers while driving to and from work (I'm considered Essential). I dont think I could justify riding my dirt bike at this time, but for those that can do it as long as you can, just be a bit more cautious when riding.

Recreational activities are allowed in ohio as long as you follow the social distancing guidelines. Our tracks are open weather permitting.

I was at track in Livermore, CA two weeks ago and the sheriff showed up and made everyone leave.

Must have been one of those Vital members who spew their "you're a selfish asshole for riding" shaming bullsh*t on everyone.

Its not about spreading the virus, its about taking pressure off the Hospitals who don't need recreational injuries clogging up the system, anyway, would you want to be in a Hospital right now???

I have gotten texts to go to the track the last few weekends so the tracks are open here still.
Actually it's the same people I used to ride 74 and ftt when they were not open so maybe not.

Who ever wants to be in a hospital? You gotta weigh the risk. The tipping point "should" be an individual choice IMO. I don't really think most hospitals are anywhere near being clogged ATM, in my personal experience it seems to be just the opposite.

Now you did it... The"hospitals aren't full" comment is going to spool the chicken little's up.

...I agree with you BTW. Wink

It shouldn't be that difficult to put a system in place that increases distance and avoids close contact.

As a track owner all you need is: email address, Venmo account (or similar for payment), online signature service and a spray can.

Go out into the pits and draw big numbers with the spray can on the ground 40 or so feet apart. This is the parking lot number and now you now how many people you can take at once.

Make riders having to email before a cut off day, time and assign them a parking number each, send the venmo details and a link to sign the waiver online.

If people don't comply with rules, social distancing or endanger themselves or others on the track ban them for the remainder of the social distancing period.

Should work yeah?

We're not building rockets here people - venmo is easy as it gets.

Delaware closed state parks. I believe MD did something similar. Of course, half our state parks are on beaches, so our state parks were getting flooded with people from PA, MD, NY, ect on the first warm day, so the governor shut them down.

the reason to stay out of hospitals at the moment has zero to do with one's risk tolerance to injury or to contracting the bug. it has everything to do with:

1) not introducing additional risk to the facility...you could be an asymptomatic host....many of us probably are.
2) allowing hospitals to re allocate resources to treat COVID patients...nurses, doctors, and treatment rooms and labs are being re purposed to treat something that may not be their specialty.

your treatment becoming emergent because of an elective behavior puts others at risk.

most state medical boards have mandated elective procedures be postponed or the license of the specialist will be revoked for this very reason.

No tracks closed around here except for the weather if it gets too muddy.

As soon as peak hospital resource usage comes down and our main goal is to prevent a reoccurrence of the outbreak, tracks should open up and just make sure everyone parks far apart. I know that at Englishtown and Field of Dreams there is plenty of room for this.

parks are closed in MD and that means motocross parks too, track close by in wv is doing 10 people at a time in 2 separate 3 hour blocks, all the close tracks to me in PA are closed for now too,

We went last Thursday just to get 1 more in tracks are still open here. I told my kid ride 80% and just cruise around. We are at the point now that we had the discussion today to not ride except the turn track at home until this is over.
