Out of 120 of Dungey's career races in the 450 class in Supercross, he's finished outside the top 5 just 11 times. The last time was 2014. He's been outside the top 10 just twice.

I don't understand how it can be viewed as anything but impressive. The guy is a badass on two wheels.

Go back and look at his average position. The last time I did it , he had an average finishing position of 3.2. I wouldn't think nobody else has that kind of average.

Yep, it's very impressive. The negative Nancy's are just butt hurt cause their riders aren't in the same league when it comes to speed/consistency. The dude's riding style is like butter, like the Dogger imo. It doesn't even look like he's trying.

That photo with his Mom yelling is one of my favorite photos of all time. Going into turn 1 with just seconds to spare from being lapped and DQ'd and then pulls away from Barcia as he charges through the pack. Awesome!

It's an incredible stat. Weather you are a big fan or not. You should be able to recognize greatness when you see it. His nickname could be Cockroach. Because even after nuclear war he will still be around. Just amazing consistency!

I'm pretty sure one of those sub top 10 finishes was because he was riding with a broken collar bone. The kid is an animal for sure.

It's a compliment. I couldn't think of a more enduring creature. No matter what you throw at it, the cockroach persists. Even after a nuclear blast. There it fucking is. That's Dungey. Doesn't matter what happens. He will be there at the end.

One of the greatest rides IMO. There are many others that can be brought up, but that day, Dungey was on a complete MISSION !!

He really is incredible. He's gone against guys who might be better than him when they are "on," but they're bad is way worse than his bad. It's almost like his good and bad are pretty close, whereas the difference in other riders' good and bad aren't even close.

I would bet Reed had a better average in the same time period of years being a pro. I seriously doubt anyone touches Reed's career podium record.

I would take that bet, if we are talking lifetime average finishing position.

"Same time period" ?

Dungey is long past having to prove himself.

He knows his stats will tell the real story.

Sorry haters.

Reed's a bad ass too. Just did a quick run down of his 2003-2010 SX seasons (an 8 season stretch like Dungey's)...and dead on comparison because Reed only did 6 races in 2010.

I have: Reed 11 times out of the top 5. 4 of those are out of the top 10. A lot of 1's, 2's, and 3's during that stretch.
