Polisport Foldable Lift Bike Stand - http://racerxonline.com/2016/12/16/actually-fun-gift-guide-polisport

It would help with two areas: grabbing my YZ250 by the fender right at the silencer area (which eventually gives it that whitish stressed look) and taking up space in a packed truck with two bikes and gear. I had their earlier folding four leg stand and it just didn't hold up to a bike being tossed onto it unless you were super slow and "gentle". Not what you feel like doing after coming off the track. The foot lift on this should solve that problem.

Am wondering if it has any adjustment on height in case that is ever needed for different bikes or whatever. It appears to have a narrowish base so stability on uneven surfaces could be a concern. Not concerned with the weight. Some other links which show the operation. There are two locking tabs, etc. -

I've only ever used a solid stand and it's all I will use. All my mates struggle at the track with lift stands and the bike sliding off them. They work in the garage but not on muddy uneven paddocks in my opinion.

I only use mine when I get the bike out the van to set fork pressures and then again when I jet wash before I go home. Otherwise i use a triangle stand in the rear axle all day or lean it up the van.

If your really really tight for space it'd do for when you need it, but when you don't just use a triangle. So much easier

That little locking lever might get a bit annoying to bend down and lock in place after each ride assuming you can't use your boot to do it.

On paper the lift stands seem awesome but in practice they're kind of a pain. I can't speak for that model but the ones I've had experience with don't work that great. A solid stand in my opinion is still the best option, or just lean it up against a tree when I'm too tired to lift it lol.

Well, I can tell you're not local w/o looking at your sig. There's a serious shortage of trees at So Cal tracks. I wish there were more for the shade!

Anyone actually used one of these?
I like lift stands. A folding one might be good.

I've always used a lift stand, in the garage and the track. Never had an issue and my low back thanks me for it.

I have about 4 different lift stands in the shop, out of the four theres one I can even stand to use, 99 times out of 100 I opt for a solid stand. The bases seem to get tweaked after so long so if Harbor does sell one I'd be scared to death. If you're putting the bike in a tight space its a pain to get to the pedal sometimes. I would def be concerned with the foot print of that. Unless you're on even concrete I don't see it being very stable. But.....I'm all for trying something new and its def intriguing.

I did see a dude with one of these at the track the other day. Seems like serious overkill......but still a pretty cool concept.

The Power Lift stand (the battery powered one above) is great. It is reliable as can be and it works great at the track or in the garage. I have worn knees like every other older racer and the KTM 450 doesn't have a good leverage point to lift the bike. This helps tremendously and is a great product. It gets nice and tall to get both wheels off the ground. I don't wash the bike on this stand because I think the water would do damage. Motorsport (not motosport) makes a really nice lift stand that is sturdy and adjustable as well.

Is there a foot pedal for lifting? Or do you press with your foot a button on the side of the stand? And how heavy is it? I kinda thought the concept was cool but wasn't sure about trying to truck it back and forth to the track and home.

I have to use a Lift stand!

I broke my back 2 years ago & I also tore my core muscles, So I can barley lift my KTM 450 on a solid stand.

I do have one for washing the bike after riding, But I have to do a Hip check to get the bike on it & then I can only get it part way & have to wiggle it in place.

All of mine are custom built & have never failed! Don't know about using on soft \ Muddy ground, We don't have much of that in HoustonGrinning Grinning Grinning

I was not impressed with the plastic fold-able stand.
I know they advertise on here so I'm not slamming them just for kicks.
The point of this fold-able light weight stand would appear to be on that is easy to "travel with".
On uneven surfaces if it is very flimsy feeling. I just dont believe that the lightweight fold-able aspect outweighs the feeling of instability.

Glad you brought this up. I drilled my shoulder into the track and was not able to lift my bike onto a stand. One more reason to look into this until my AC joint heals.

They're on the website so I asume they're for sale https://www.polisport.com/en/off-road/products/performance-parts-and-accessories/foldable-lift-bike-stand/?id=277&pid=11633

I would call them up first or email and ask about:

Durability, adjustable height and uneven ground.

It should hold up better than their last non-lift fold-able stand as you're not going to be slamming a bike onto it.

Anyone have experience with one?

My folding plastic stand from them is only a month old and it's already broken a couple of the hinge tabs. I don't think it's gonna make it much longer before it caves in. No way is it gonna last through the summer. Kinda disappointing considering the price tag compared to a normal stand.

You press a button on the side of the stand with your foot. It's a 3" X 3" button and very easy to get to. It's heavier than an aluminum stand but about the same as a steel stand. Not heavy at all. Very good construction.

Touche.......and 350 bucks to not have to push down with my foot seems a bit excessive. But its def the Cadillac of MX stands.

I have an FMF lift stand, they don't make them anymore but it puts all other lift stands to shame. It's super high quality. I still prefer a solid stand though

I use the harbor freight dirtbike stand. Works just fine for less than 30$ with a 20% off coupon.

https://www.harborfreight.com/350-lb-motocross-dirt-bike-stand-66552.ht…
Ive got a handful of harbor freight tools, but if you can't hit it with a hammer or use it as a hammer I steer clear. But, I will admit I've bent up a couple of 100 dollar lift stands already......so 29.99 is a pretty unbeatable price.

Honestly the best, and cheapest, lift stands are the style most commonly used by dirt trackers. I can't find a picture easily but someone has to know what I am talking about?

They basically just cradle the under frame and then when you step on the level the whole thing just rocks up locks in.

Why not a triangle? You dont have to lift the bike at all and do you REALLY need the wheels off the ground if youre not doing maintenance?

Moto has developed into a sport where riders can't lift thier bikes into the stand. It's like going to the gym and waiting for a parking spot closer to the door so you don't have to walk so far.

In my day we used milk crates and we liked it like that.
The only reason I'd buy a lift stand is :my bike has a down pipe, it was for my daughter's pw50 or I was under 5' tall.

I'd love to go back to the milk crate if anyone here can point me towards one that's tall enough.
