Davey,

Have you heard anything about Kawasaki and/or Suzuki having any renewed interest in producing a 125?
I thought maybe with 125's becoming so popular again, and you adding them to select Nationals, it might give them the push they need.

Btw, my brother is a multi line dealer. His Kawi rep says they'll have one out this year. Fwiw

Thanks

I've heard Kawi's a no.

P.S. I'll happily eat a size 12 if I'm wrong.

As for Kawi, that 125 coming this year thing has been floating around for a solid four years now...I'm not holding my breath. Suzuki was kinda working on something...but based on what I heard the other day, it may have been stopped.

I Have a 125 Question
Can a person Race More than 1 round ?
It kinda sounds like it was set up
To bring the winners of each rounds together at the end
To race each other .
That would make me think
That 1 guy couldn't race all the rounds
Is that right or no ?

its expanding off of last years "series" with each event acting as a standalone event. I dont think there was anything preventing riders from doing more than one event except for distance and time.

I think the idea is to bring more local hero's from each region out instead of only seeing a core group of guys.

FWIW i think the rules set is perfect for promoting the races. At most I would onlly want to see a regional series with no restrictions. there has been a serious need in a "B" series like the old 4 stroke nationals and now Arenacross for guys who dont have the means to run SX/MX or who cant pick up a ride.

Kawasaki will release an electric MX bike before they produce a modern 2-stroke.

If Suzuki puts out a new 125, I'll buy 2.

We are more likely to see upgrades to the YZs before that happens though... So Yamaha will get my money again.

You don't get it and probably never will. If you spent enough time on a 125.. ..you wouldn't of even asked the question.

Jeffro, from one 125 rider/racer to another, even though I've got that old '05 YZ with the "bad" forks and you've got the latest. I can't think of anything 190lbs or so, that's any better to have as a dancing partner! Bring on the Nationals! Grinning

That's why I said "fwiw".
My feeling is we would have seen some spy photos by now if it were true.

I'll believe it when I see it.

Besides, my main question was more about DC hearing anything.

Is there any truth to the rumors of updated yz's for 19?

It's a very loose series and a rider can do one or all, but like someone mentioned, time and distance will make that tough. The last race at Indiana we hope will get some guys from all over the country, but it's not a national championship or anything, just the last race of this season. We have some pretty interesting guys from Hangtown -- RV, Jimmy Albertson, Ping, Shaun Palmer, Sleeter and a bunch of fast local kids -- and it should be a cool part of the weekend.

So will the 125 races be shown on tv or NBC gold?

Still working on it for NBC Gold. Highlights for sure but the race is 45 minutes before the first motos, which makes it hard to get all of the cameras manned and start the stream, I'm told. We are working on a fix.

And it should be a cool part of the weekend? Ha, for some of us dinosaurs, it will be the BEST part of the weekend.

And heck yeah Ted! I understand now why these little bikes are so addicting. So dang fun!

Maverick, that would require an hour of overtime for about 60 people on the TV crew, and they don't work for cheap!

they might if it sold 1000 extra Gold Pass subscriptions. I'm one of those hold-outs that is waiting to see if the 125 race is included. If not, I'll just watch on dailymotion the next day.
