Hear me out. A lot of the time, if not most of the time, SX and especially MX are actually really boring to watch. When you have the fastest guy riding around out front it’s basically a dog and pony show. Yeah there are also some good “battles” and crashes from time to time, but more often it’s just the...

He lives at a really gnarly track in florida. Has a new gas gas sitting there. The guy can do 20 minute motos at a good pace and definitely has the speed to log a top 15 qualifying time. I think it triggers some on vital that J can basically show up anytime he wants and Lilly gag his way...
Feld and youtube seem to agree that it was good entertainment. I saw it replayed enough times. Sucks someone broke bones, but others just charged ahead and made money off the incident. That’s the nature of the beast I suppose.

You're not technically wrong, but your example is dumb. 250s this year have actually been pretty good battles with the Lawrences and Shimoda at least... Chase and Eli have battled pretty hard too. Not controversial, just not a great year to make the claim.

No you make a good point. I do enjoy watching a race every once and a while, but I think seeing the same 4-5 fast riders every weekend, the same story line, week in week out and year after year after year. I’ve definitely lost my love for this sport. Now that they announced an additional three races I started...

He hasn’t holeshot and ran away most times and he hasn’t won em all. I’ve enjoyed watching him race methodically and time his passed throughout the moto. If you’re not enjoying watching this then maybe moto isn’t for you.

Ehh, he’s won most of the races pretty easily. Honestly I didn’t even watch washougal because the YouTube link got taken down. But I basically stopped watching the 250 class because it’s been so boring. Reminds me of back in the day when RC would get up to the lead and my Dad would turn off the TV
The promoters basically said: all these off season races, Geneva, whatever, they’re done - you work for us forever now. Feld/Mxsports put up against a wall when they came up with “supermotocross” and decided they had to fight back as opposed to let WSX take all the best riders away from outdoors and possibly SX. But now you have 17+11+3...
Its also insane to think that if Nico would have just spent his $1mm net worth in 2009 or whatever on a few stocks or other investment he would be one of the richest mx racers of all time by now. Instead he bought a Escalade with rims, a bmw. And some other random car I can’t remember. The rest...
The worst part about the story is the way some people in the industry treat a fairly high status former rider. The fact that nico can get out of jail and call this person or that person and have a place to stay, a bike to ride. He’s already ruined other peoples families and spent time in prison being floated...

The track is very narrow in most sections. There isn’t any elevation change but there are some good split sections. The track is prepped and filled pretty deep but then it gets overridden through most of the day. Doesn’t develop good lines like a pro race, but more amateur lines that just get chewed up more and more all day...
