We counted 8 ktm wheels and spokes breaking today. Anyone know what is going on.

Are you sure it was a wheel failure or were they flats? I saw several flats but I only saw one grenaded rear wheel.

I’ve seen three posts on Facebook and IG about broken wheels at Loretta’s. I wouldn’t be surprised if at least one or two is due to lack of maintenance.

It’s from everyone flat landing the big jump before the finish line. Not sure about Deegan. That one may have been contact with Ferry.

This is the wheel of Jordan Biese’s KTM. Amazing he was able to finish.

It was his contact with Ferry that broke Deegan's rear wheel.

We are at Loretta's. Deegan's was with contact from Ferry's foot peg. With most of the other riders its from sending it off the step down into the big right sand sweeper before the last turn. Its a huck.

Not for nothing but on the podium Ferry even said he put his foot in Deegan's wheel when they fell and almost got it stuck.

Several of the ladies were sending that jump, almost the last moto of the day, one of them came up short first try and it looked gnarly

Not one Cobra forged wheel issue. Make mag wheels great again.

I'm breaking spokes and i have a good maintenance program for prevention. I think the material is getting cheaper. I'm dealing with this on 2 of my bikes and i can't make sense of it.

What bikes? I always had problems with my stock KTM wheels. Got a DID/Talon set from Dubya and they’ve been a “set it and forget it” for 6 years now. I worked in a moto shop before and during peak COVID time and I saw more failures on brand new bikes and parts way quicker than before. Wasn’t it outdoors of 2020 when a bunch of RK chains broke? I think a lot of companies are forging metal certificates.

That's pretty funny.

Off-topic and 100% legit question, why is the availability of the 65 so scarce? I inquired after Mammoth and was told I may be able to get one in February-ish.

All of the bikes are the same brand. KTM makes you pay extra for shitty wheels and air forks.

One of our friends on a KX450 sent it over the sand roller and flat landed. That was the end of his moto. Was running 11th in 450B.

What would the extra cost be of magnesium wheels?

2022 KTM 350 stock wheels are light and everything but don't hold up that well. I replaced them with Faster USA wheels but have recently started breaking a spoke here and there (not the fault of Faster USA).

2022 KX450 stock wheels. The spoke nipples strip way to easily. It's next to impossible to torque the spokes to the correct tension all around the wheel.

Yamaha wheels stock are fine.

The Japanese brands don't come with real excel rims. Well they are excel's but cheaper lighter 6000 series not the 7000 series if you bought them directly. The giveaway is the cheaper ones only have one excel logo not two.

Managed to taco the front on my yz250 and flat spot the rear. Just depends on where you ride how you ride.
