I believe that those years of kx250 stock cylinders had an "electrofusion" coating....not "nikasil" or "plated"....they would wear out extremely fast if an intense maintenance routine wasn't followed. Your cylinder looks better than most you would find in our current times....for the year of that bike. If you are keeping the bike and looking to put lots of hours on it...I would recommend getting it plated with nickel silicone carbide (nikasil) like every other bike manufactured after 1989....and fit any piston you want with a nice tight tolerance. Keep a nice serviced air filter in it at all times and...

3/8/2024 1:27pm yeah they sell the low quality pop-up units basically a shipping container with cheap fixtures. what I'm talking about is something like a steel framing kit that may come with some sandwich panels or cheap wood to cover it.
