So once again another week where moto journalist have items served up on a silver platter to investigate/report on but more than likely we won't hear anything...

1.) Jett's mechanic working on bike while bike in gate - Does the AMA allow this type of work at the gate since a wrench wasn't being used or was this a miss on the ref at the event?  Will this be addressed for future events?

2.) Fans rushing the track before the event is complete - Was this a lapse of the even promoter security?  Will the promoter be penalized for this?  How would they score riders that were still racing if they were impeded from crossing the fish line?

Paging Dark, Lewis, ML....

Spectators entering prohibited areas… and it’s a rider’s fault?? Get a grip.

Yeah I doubt they would penalize him.  However, he still has to do that calculation while he's on the track and trying to dodge idiots.

Yep, people bring their dogs into the grocery store now.  I don't remember seeing that before the past few years.

I think covid made people lose their minds.

I wasn't by any means saying its his fault legally if he clobbers someone. But still the fact is he is now in a situation where he has to operate machinery through this crowd. the reality is him and AP had to slow down and not hit jumps, not hit people. What if he decided to just huck the finish line out of frustration? Its a lofty hypothetical but a realistic question about responsibility if one of those spectators got hit hard

I'm surprised AMA didn't punish Ando for this WinkLaughing

Yes, I was there for that too.  Sort of funny but frustrating too.  The race was delayed for like an hour or something and it was really cold out!  The drunk idiots were out in full force for sure...  Haha

The only person responsible for getting hit by a bike on a live racetrack is the dumbass who ran out onto the live racetrack.  I don't care if Ando pinned it in third gear and aimed right at someone it's still their fault for even being out there where they weren't supposed to be, they made a conscious choice to be an idiot and being an idiot has consequences.

It was being discussed that with Jason’s previous incidents of contact that he should be penalized and fined, but it was determined that the girl did not loose time or position running across the track.  They did note that Jason should be more careful in the future.

Perhaps too much trying to dumb down the sport??? Not really but kinda.

At Daytona You have a blended vibe of spring break,Bike week , and a Supercross race.  I think that may be just the perfect mix of fans that do not know enough to not go out onto a track during a race and   booze. Its more of a party atmosphere than a lot of races. So I don't know that it is really a good reflection of SX fans in general. I bet that a larger percentage of the first ones out onto the track were not hardcore fans of the sport.

Hey maybe it gets some mainstream press, and people see it and think, "WOW I gotta check this Supercross thing out! "  Hopefully turn this negative into a positive .

shocking to me that some of those fans weren't even bothering to yield to him when he was trying to finish that lap. spectators on a race track really isn't too dangerous when they stay on the edges - latin america style.

For sure....I bet we could name them based on their donut-dealer postings.

Actually....yes.   Can't tell you how many times we'll go out to a nice restaurant for an adult meal and some inconsiderate  parents bring their screaming trophies with them.      I put as much blame on the restaurant for allowing kids in the first place.

funny, I've been saying the exact same thing about kids in restaurants for the last few years. the responsibility should be on the parent to walk outside with the screaming child, if they refuse, they should be asked to leave. entitlement mentality, people really think they are entitled to just sit there with a screaming kid while everyone else just has to deal with it.

If i go into a restaurant and notice young children i just immediately leave. its expensive enough to eat out without having a terrible experience because of someones unbehaved kid that they're too uppity to discipline

My son never cried in a restaurant or on an airplane… because I never brought him to a restaurant or on a plane until he was old enough to behave himself!
