It looks like the rod was spinning on the bearing, as if it was pressed to tight or the bearing or rod width were wrong. Is there any side clearance at all? Hard to tell from photos.

I have a 23 300sx and a 25 300Sx with the updated frame & linkage bolts…. I would be hard pressed to feel any difference between the 2…. So far my 23 rear suspension feels better due to the FC shock revalve…..different shock settings could throw the whole comparison out the window….only someone like keefers or Prof125 could maybe feel the difference …assuming there was grease on the threads of a random bolt👍

Sure, but the 2025 also got a new chassis with a cutout in the shock area (debatable whether that actually makes a difference) and more importantly revised and thinner tubing near the hear tube (that will absolutely make a difference). The linkage bolt change did nothing but make things lighter, like they used to be in 2022, and gave the marketing department something to lie about 😂.

10/29/2025 12:48pm Interesting, so far this '23 is working ok for me. Definitely holds up better coming out of corners than the '17 and '21 I had before. I have a Kroozetune piston/valving out of my '21 that is supposed to fit this shock, should see if they will send me the valving charts for it in the '23

10/29/2025 4:06am I saw the bolt diameter changed from '22 to '23, didn't realize they had went back in '25. The pullrod on my '23 has split along the seam and is backordered for a few weeks. I was hoping that they went to a billet piece or something in '25 that would interchange but that's not the case.

In 2023 they changed the bolts and more importantly, the bearings, to a larger size that was consistent across multiple areas to consolidate and save money in manufacturing. That gained a lot of weight, though, for no other benefit. In 2025 they went back to the same size bearings and bolts they used in 2022 and marketing spun it as a method to add compliance, which is nonsense. But it was the right move because the assembly got a lot lighter. The 2023-2024 linkage is not compatible with the 2025-2026 or vise-versa as the hole sizes are all different in...

I have always ran a bit of maxima hi-test additive, found it worked many years ago with a CR125 I had that would detonate on pump gas but not with the additive
