Frame is fine. What do you think - Kawasaki heat-treated the frame after welding it up? LOL! What about Kawasaki factory bikes of the day having welded on skid plate mounts or water pump guards? Did Kawasaki send the frames back to Japan to have them "properly re-heat treated" , to factory specs?

Yeah those look like 2003 to 2005 ish RM forks. The latest model RM 2 stroke forks featured the circlip ring at the base of the outer fork tube for the fork guard to slide on. Your forks don't appear to have that so you will want to consider running the fork guard guides to avoid rubbing the outer tubes away. They are a good fork and likely an upgrade over the Kawi forks of that year. I don't know about dimensions but I cant imagine they are too far off. Bike will behave as shit with high idle. Braking through bumps, corners get all messed up. Not that easy. Issue is part of his riding style and aggressive clutch setting for starts. More of the first. Would be interesting to hear if he will or why not, start working on having a finger on the clutch more often.

Do the tracks do nothing about it? There’s a handful of times Randy Yoho made me shut my bike off and walk it to the gate through the sandy ass pits at Dade City because I shifted out of first gear when I knew damn well I wasn’t supposed to. After the 3rd or 4th time of pushing my 85 down there I wised up quick.
