Help Needed – Showa Dual Chamber Fork on 2000 KX125

Hi everyone,

I recently picked up a 2000 KX125 and noticed it has a set of Showa dual chamber forks installed. From what I can tell, these forks look like they came off a Suzuki RM125 from around the same era.

I'm wondering if anyone here has experience with this swap. Specifically:

Do the fork length and axle offset match up well with the stock KX setup?WhatsApp Image 2025-05-05 at 14.47.06.jpeg?VersionId=oEWa72Z3Z18ebe26a-7f34-4c17-aa31-a05dddd1a7ba.jpg?VersionId=t00aF20Lmh KiEH

Thanks in advance for any help or insight!

Yeah those look like 2003 to 2005 ish RM forks.

The latest model RM 2 stroke forks featured the circlip ring at the base of the outer fork tube for the fork guard to slide on. Your forks don't appear to have that so you will want to consider running the fork guard guides to avoid rubbing the outer tubes away.

They are a good fork and likely an upgrade over the Kawi forks of that year. I don't know about dimensions but I cant imagine they are too far off. The triple clamp offset maybe the biggest difference.

You will know when you ride it if the forks are too long/short as it will feel choppered or stink buggy. You can slide the forks around in the clamps as normal to suit.
