Motocross action did a 22 250 shoot out and the Husky took the top spot. There might be some good insight in the video. Either way you go, pretty sure you'll be happy, Good luck and post an update of what ya get!

I had a 22 CRF250R and a 22 gasgas ex250f riding hare scrambles. The CRF engine is probably perfect for a beginner to intermediate rider for hare scrambles because it lugs well which can help in tight terrain. The Honda clutch has no modulation which causes problems when it is slick and you need to lug and control traction with the clutch. The Austrian engine blows it out of the water from mid to top and the clutch has much better modulation for managing traction. So I'm probably getting this 2002 cr 125 as kinda a fun project bike. It needs a top end. What else should I do to it to get it back to its prime. Fork seals, bearings, gaskets etc..? Also could I modify some newer 250 plastics to work on it?

whipping is pretty much just to look cool. Scrubbing on the other hand can shave seconds off lap times. A jump you would hit in 4th gear you can take in 5th. Because you are staying lower and not jumping as far. So you can actually hit a jump a lot faster.
