It's a great concept, but parking was $40 at MetLife, plus you'd have to deal with all the traffic trying to come back in. I'd argue for some beers and hoagies in the parking lot to save the money and headaches. It does really suck that there's so much down time between the end of the pits being open and the night show, but it is what it is.

Nothing to see Friday and you won't be able to get in to press day etc with a normal ticket. I suggest arriving for free practice and then go to pits if they are open leading into qulaifying. Stay for qualifying and then leave for a good dinner somewhere near the stadium between that and the night show. You will have a couple hours and it's nice to get away and refresh at hotel/restaurant/bar or whatever you like. Bring snacks too unless you want to have hot dogs, nachos etc all day.
