Ture that, met him at Seattle SX in '10, by far one of the nicest dudes I've ever met. I'm sure he's not used to a ton of attention at SX races, but I saw him in his trademark Dunlop yellow fleece and called out his name. He smiled, walked right over, and shot the shit with me for at least 15 minutes like it was nothing out of his day.

Yep. Met him in the pits at Vegas one year. He was super nice and friendly, especially when I introduced him to my son Broc that I named after Mr. Glover (although my wife vetoed my original choice for his middle name: "Golden Boy").

Huge Broc fan here. First time I saw him in person was in the pits at the Mid-Ohio 125 USGP (mid to late seventies) with Hannah. He was sitting in a lawn chair chilling after practice and I couldn't believe how damn skinny he was! Broc was one of the most methodical and smooth guys I ever watched race and I loved his style. I wonder if he remembers endoing through the fence at Red Bud one year? I just happened to be standing in the right place at the right time as he went over the bars and through/over the fence right next to me, got up brushed it off remounted and took back off! I loved the battles he and David had and he rode the friggin wheels off that big YZ. He was also one of the early super trainers and trend setters with his gear which was always impeccable. He is definitely one of the least talked about/remembered yet greatest American Motocrossers.

Yeah...met him the same way at a St. Louis SX a few years back. He seemed to really appreciate the acknowledgement, and was super friendly to my girlfriend and her son, who had no idea at all who "Broc Glover" was. Good dude, and a very underrated rider in his time.

I also witnessed him taking all kinds of shit from Tony Alessi at the same race for not having "good tires" (I guess that's code for a factory tire) for Mike to ride on that night. Tony pretty much got right up in Broc's face too...and Broc was cool throughout the ordeal. He told Tony to leave the Dunlop pit, and he did...still ranting and raving. I was pretty impressed the way Broc didn't lose his cool during that.
That is a funny story about Tony.

My quick Glover story - at the Muddy Creek national in 2014, he was one of the people I wanted to get an autograph from. I found him at the Dunlop truck, talking to a few people. I waited outside the fence for about five minutes, not wanting to disturb him. When he noticed me standing there, he came over and asked if he could help me with something. I explained that I would like his autograph, at which point he smiled very big, said, "Absolutely!", apologized for making me wait, shook my hand and thanked me. A very approachable and nice man.

Definitely one of my all time favs. As noted by others, he rode that POS YZ490 and beat the great Bailey on it a few times. One of the most under rated of all time.

So did I, I wanted that YZ80 so bad and I had a 82 Yamaha MX100 at the time.

Broc has got to be the most underrated champion of all time! I remember him battling tooth and nail with David Baily riding a production based POS yz490. How he even stayed with Bailey on that RC500 is beyond me.
With out a Doubt Broc Glover was the GOAT
Think about it, those 490's where not even close to those CR 500 Works Bikes.
The Level of Competition in the 70, 80 come on,
Although I am a Huge Bob Hannah Fan, I respect Broc for what he did on the track just incredible

Last I remember him racing was the YROC races back in the late 90s early 2000s .

I pull this out every time there's a Broc thread. I took this pic at the Atlanta Trans USA 1980. Maybe Fran Kuhn can come on here and tell the story about the first time he met Broc with me at the USGP. Laughing
