Definitely check out the USS Midway since you're right there. If you're in Little Italy, check out the Firehouse museum on Cedar and Columbia...very cool. Balboa park is worth a visit too, as is La Jolla Cove. As someone mentioned, the kayaking is cool by the caves. As far as beaches, Coronado is awesome...there is a brewhouse there as well...of...
