I'll be damned if our leadership sends him to Syria next. I wont be quiet if that happens.
It doesn't serve Assad since he's winning, whilst our leaders are desperate for an excuse to launch another invasion.
There is NO end to their madness. The atrocities that we only hear whispers of are everyday life.
I'm so glad I'm an American.
I believe that we are being a "presence" there to preserve our oil interest....at the expense of our fine young men.
I am involved in the fracking oil industry.....mid America north to North Dakota,
We have vast reserves that are just being developed.
We are using their oil until there is none...........
Do you know if there is still Royal Marines deployed there near the southern borders (Jordan)?
I remember they sent a bunch close to there back in June.
There was also a bunch of US Marines guarding the border.
Both of our countries were supposed to work together pulling some sort of security detail along the border.
Hopefully if they're still there ,they do not get orders to push in.
Buncha greedy, close minded Republican kooks! All of ya !

Is this as close to an all out world war as you can get with out actually having a world war ?
The UN has obviously intervened. They want no-fly zones setup in the country to make sort of safe havens for civilians.
They seem to be cooperating with the UN so far in regards to this so-called chem weapons attack.
"Syria will allow U.N. inspectors to visit a site near Damascus where an alleged chemical weapons attack killed hundreds of people, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said Aug. 24 after speaking with Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem, AFP reported, citing IRNA."
But if the UN decides something with a coalition type operation/assault.
More then likely it would be missile type strikes to destroy some of their artillery and also so-called chem weapons facilities.
You might even see some air strikes being called out from joint forces - with no direct US involvement.
But I don't see US conventional ground forces getting involved (pushing in) unless they want to arrest/detain some head regime folks if they did indeed use chem weapons and wont surrender/cooperation.
Should be interesting to see how it plays out.
On a side note.
France also has lots of Doctors on the ground in there helping folks.
LOL - Shooting little AA guns at MiG jet fighters isn't the wisest idea.
From another angel.
Seen these reports coming out just now on Strafor.
Iran:" U.S. Intervention Would Have Grave Consequences, Defense Official Says
Iranian Deputy Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Brig. Gen. Masoud Jayazeri has condemned U.S. Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel's comments on Washington's review of military options in Syria, and has warned that an intervention would have dire consequences for the United States."
Iran: "Former Ambassador Warns U.S., Israel Against Syrian Intervention
Former Iranian Ambassador to Jordan Mohammad Irani warned the United States and Israel on Aug. 25 that conditions are not ripe for a military intervention in Syria."
Syria:" Israel Calls For Removal Of Chemical Weapons
Israeli President Shimon Peres called Aug. 25 for an international effort to "take out" Syrian chemical weapons, though he did not specify how."
Pffft.
Israel will be making a few "strategic strikes" soon.
But from my understanding...from what I have read.
Israel wants the US to act ASAP.
Reason being is if they(Israel) act they'll have to deal with Assad retaliation(that's what Israel is saying).
Israel feels if the US acts then Assad wont do anything to them(Israel) - or retaliate right away.
But the U.S. can't act in Syria without UN approval/backing is what Panetta has been saying all along (due to opposition from Russia).
Should be interesting.
There's UN inspection teams on the ground in there now - supposed to inspect the area tomorrow.
They can gather a great deal of intel on Assad targets to strike.
As I read it, it will be difficult to prove the use of CW due to continued military ops. Do you know if there can be definitive traces
of CW uses in victims/dead?
One other uninformed question.....could it be possible the Rebels got into something and released it accidentally,
or on purpose? And could it be possible a third party..CIA/Mossad/Foreign Intel services interjected themselves....for
whatever reasons to influence World opinion?
and I take away from your comment that UN iteams can/are scouting targets/spying?
Just asking.
Thanks
PS
It's possible it could have been the Rebels who carried out a chem attack maybe even on purpose.
Seems like either side would deny it if they were at fault...or any other agency.
From: http://sofrep.com/25955/chemical-weapons-attack-in-syria/
"Al Nusra operatives were arrested in May in Adana by Turkish anti-terrorism forces with 2 kg of sarin, and Iraqi security forces broke up an AQI cell in Baghdad in June that was attempting to manufacture chemical weapons also."
So the rebels can get & make (may have) these types of weapons.
As for spying or scouting.....they could gather helpful intel is what I was getting at.
