I ordered a DT1 filter to check the fitment with our domed air filter cage. I have always been a fan of the neoprene lip they use. Fit our cage great, and I’ll tell you if anyone is worried about sealing issues at all, this filter you would never have to worry. It fits so snug into the airbox with the neoprene lip it puts lots of pressure on the metal clips to hold the filter cage super tight to the air box. I would swap springs. My suspension guy is going to install.52's in mine just like my 22. I'm at the track now and I dropped my forks flush, bike still carves nicely, going to leave them. I did like MXA and turned in the high speed and damnit it's so much better. I didn't realize how bad it was wallowing.

I took my first ride on my new bike last night and came away very impressed. Prior to even starting the bike, I did quite a bit to it to get it ready. 1)Greased everything, 2)torqued the spokes, 3)oiled the air filter, 4)tossed the stock exhaust and installed a PC T-6, 5)programmed in the Tickle map, 6)pulled the rubber plug from the airbox and tore the foam off the back side of the left number plate, 7)went from the stock 5.5 to a 6.0 shock spring, 8)took off the fork caps and added 50ml of oil to each fork, 9)took...

I installed a Gold Valve kit in my 2019 to improve the hold up of the forks. I added 50ml of oil to each fork yesterday. I’ll be taking the bike out for the first ride tomorrow afternoon. I can’t wait to try it!

I had a PC pipe and silencer on order anyway, so I tried removing the baffle and screens last night. I was able to cut the baffles out, but couldn’t figure out how to remove the screens, so the whole muffler got tossed in the trash. I took my 25% off coupon to Harbor Freight and picked up the swivel sockets I’ll need to change out the head pipe. FedEx just notified me that my package from PC will get dropped off today. I think too many people are stressing about things that do not even need to be stressed about. There are no sealing issues at all with this bike. Unless, you don’t put the filter in the cage correctly and most aftermarket filters assist any kind of issue. Take out the grommet, remove the baffles in the stock silencer, or get an aftermarket silencer and it’ll be more than we all need, again. This bike is literally amazing, and will treat anyone well.

Seems like the power flow system is a waste of time and money. A simple new cage and twin air filter do pretty much the same thing. Groves for the filter don't bother me and they function fine.

A better question might be why did they decide to put the bike into production with an obviously poorly designed air intake system, when the factory teams on both sides of the Atlantic use something different? They have been testing this bike for over a year. IMHO First year bikes are always weird no matter the brand...

FYI air filter situation for this bike just got a lot better. New testing on the dyno is showing a significant improvement. You 2024 KX 450 guys will be very happy in a few months with a new after market airbox and filter configuration coming out.
