Well said...the culture has gotten soft, but the cream always rises to the top regardless of the generation. Seems like the truly exceptional are becoming more and more rare, which is an interesting dynamic.

Bigger and stronger? No. Pros in all sports are more athletic than ever. Watch current NBA. They're so athletic it blows my mind. Every single guy van run and jump out of the gym. Tougher. Yes the older generation was tougher. And across the board in all sports

Toughness is one thing that doesn't change. You either are or you're not. Pastrana would be the exact same way if he was racing today because of his upbringing. His Dad, uncles, cousins, and him were not brought to be participation trophy kids. My sister didn't talk to me for a year, because I gave her a ton of shit for not sending her kid to school numerous times because he was feeling anxious? My brother in law didn't want to say anything to set my sister off because she's so emo and he doesn't want to rock the boat...
