Speed of bikes, tracks, risk, all make the period you reference look like a trail ride and I raced in the 70's and 80's. The current state of the sport is so much more dangerous it isn't even funny. Did anyone cross jump another competitor on a SX triple back then? Didn't think so.

Stop with the tough guy 70s/80s crap. I grew up in that generation, too, and there wasn't a single top 10 guy who smashed people while going backwards like Friese does.
