Tool for the job. Just about everyone will turn lower lap times on a 450 riding mx, but people generally don't ride 2t's for the lowest mx lap time. If you did that, that's on you. And of course when it comes to gnarly tight trails, 2t's are king.

Granted, 4-strokes are easier to ride and feel more modern, but there’s a lot of benefits to the 2-stroke mainly in cost snd weight. I predict 10 pages

6/28/2023 11:22am I enjoy riding them all too. Havent rode an electric bike since alta but excited to try the Varg when it comes. The deep throating reference is about people going crazy about them. Saying four strokes ruined the sport, four strokes took away the skill, all that nonsense you see. never understood it so I made the post.

Watch a 90's or early 00's supercross and get back to me on if you still agree with your post title . You are right though in that they aren't amazing in terms of easily making your lap times as fast as possible. But the fun factor has to be worked into the equation.

My Last two stroke was my kx85. Four strokes are so much more fun to ride. Especially on dry beat up tracks. Parts on four strokes seem to last way longer and maintenance intervals are nowhere near as extreme as they were 15 years ago. To each their own though!

I think some of it is nostalgia. When I see or hear 2 strokes I'm taken back to some of the happiest childhood days of watching the local races and smelling the smoke or wrenching on my rm80 in my garage with my dad. It is a different animal too. A guy let me ride his 06 rm125 last year at the track (he rode my 250f) and I am pretty sure you couldn't have slapped the smile off my face.

6/28/2023 10:20am yes you are right. Thats why you and I are so much closer in speed to tomac now than we were to RC on a 2 stroke. Because 4 strokes killed skill. Makes perfect sense.

2 strokes are much more challenging to ride fast and effectively and when you master that, it's much more rewarding for people that like riding them

call me old school but I have a Beta 300RX and if I'm stuck with only 1 bike that's the one I'll take home every single time. It doesn't do one thing amazing but it does everything pretty good. I've taken it on hard enduro stuff, desert races, motocross, GP races, as well as just trail rides with my kids. I've literally done it all with that bike and it just does pretty damn good for all of it.

Do you want to know the truth? The 2t has to be ridden the 4t is easier and helps you and forgives. The electric in some mini tracks you are even faster, but then you forget how to ride a bike. The 2t is fun if you know how to ride it. No one ever said that with the 2t you are faster. The topic can be closed before frustrated people vent with downvotes LOL
