Lockdowns absolutely do work, look at other countries that have implemented successful lockdowns. As to whether they are worth the pain, that is a totally different question, sadly each human life has a value, shoot the economy in the foot to save 1 person a day, obviously not. so at what point is it worth the sacrifice? truthfully every persons threshold will be different, and its a horrible choice to have to make.
