Stark claims 80 hp: reality18.5% less, giving 67.5 hp. Stark claims a certain weight; bike comes in miles heavier. Stark claims 17000 sold: still not a single average customer's bike in the wild, 19 months in.

Why wouldn't stark have the same problem as all other car and electric bike manufacturers. delivery times of more than a year are normal everywhere. And stark won't be at the forefront of the components supply as they're only just on the market. I'm a industrial automation guy the delivery times are a drama if you can get anything at all, and much of the components we use they also use it in electric cars an bikes, but also in normal cars. There is hardly any electronics in an ICE dirt bike, they don't have that problem.

Translation: someone here at Stark suggested we may notice an increase in our sales if we actually created and staffed a shipping department. So, we have requested money in the budget to conduct a feasibility study on the topic and expect said study to be completed within the next 2 years, perhaps less if each individual brings their top game every single day. In the meantime, our generously staffed bookkeeping department is still bringing their top game every single day and accepting deposits.

I'd say it's a reasonable bet that if those two actually have bikes they are loaners from the old fleet of demo specials. Neither of the guys are likely to embarrass Anton by running out of battery 15 minutes into a tough moto.

The PR fluff is to keep the suckers excited and string them along. They have now shown 20 bikes lined up, 6 weeks after they announced "we're in production and shipping". The bikes are real, but something is going on behind the scenes.

As an engineer within Automotive R&D I find the current situation for Stark not surprising at all. When developing a completely new concept in a new organisation there are so many parameters affecting the ability to deliver the products. I would never buy the first year model of a new product generation from an established company. Now we have both a new company, new product in a new product category. Off course nothing will be smooth. I'm surprised so many people have put a deposit.

I'm a regular folk with one on order, my delivery date currently says 30th June 2023. Two weeks from now. Guess I'll see if they let me down at the last minute

The other two people you mentioned that have received them might also fit in those shoes, one being a blogger and the other a professional athlete.

I just saw their instagram post about the battery and skid plate. So there is no frame under the battery? So if you case a hard jump or land on top of another bike you are likely destroying battery?

Likely starting an impossible to extinguish fire, either immediately or in the next few days.

To answer OP, they are still in the pre-order only stage. Guessing it will be 2 years before you see them available on a showroom floor.
