After diving into this a bit more, I suspect the brace is just a band-aid to improve bearing life, and doesn't really serve any other purpose. I ran some analysis on the Honda linkage arms, and the reaction moment at the bearing is surprisingly large. There's not much info that I could find about permissible moments on roller needle bearings, but the Koyo technical reference states: "When a couple load (overturning moment) is imposed on a single row of needle rollers, the resulting uneven distribution of load can seriously affect bearing life. In such cases, two rows of needle rollers...

Feels good when Jett or I ride it. Teams have been adding material to frames for a long time…the Honda frame is soft, so it makes sense that are adding material to it, and other chassis parts.

There is also a public track in Santa fe off the bypass, which is rarely prepped but always open. There is also cycle park outside of Espanola, again never prepped but always open. Tons off single track and desert riding surround albuquerque.

It would kill the sport. When there’s only 22 guys racing each week, it wouldn’t be very desirable as a privateer.

Without Jett last season, Honda won a 250 outdoor, 250 supercross, 450 supercross title and 2nd in 450 outdoor, so the look was pretty good no?

The early '70s too were a great time to be here, you could race almost every week with a little driving... Bearcat, Volcano Clifffs, Lee's Park, Kirtland, and later Mesa Park and the Big Dig in Albuquerque, in addition to Santa Fe, Taos, Gallup, El Paso, and best of all, the wonderful track up in the hills between T or C and Elephant Butte. (I loved Volcano Cliffs too, but hated the Big Dig -- It swallowed my CZ 250 whole, and crapped out a sad sculpture of twisted, broken parts when the throttle stuck precisely where you didn't want...

I was just about to say the same thing. I'm a huge RC fan, and he has some really great takes at times, but other times he is just WAY off. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but I get the feeling RV has the same thoughts on their podcast. RC has forgotten more than I'll ever know about this sport, even though I'm older than he is, but that doesn't mean everything he says is gospel. You can say he's wrong and way out in left field and not disrespect his career or what he's doing now. Sometimes...

I got a Vital message from a guy last night and he said he is opening up a track in Deming. I had a lot of good times racing there back in the day. Been out of the state for a loooong time though. The last track I raced in ABQ was called Flyin' High. That was in the late 80s. TorC used to have a fun track in the middle of their roundy round dirt track. I really miss the free riding desert tracks after rains. OP, you are going to love it.

Lived there for years, the moto scene is meh, but there are dozens if not hundreds of joker sand tracks out in the desert with some incredible dirt when it rains. Satellite view on google maps helps find them on the north and northwest side of town. WEBE has an okay off road series that uses NM, SE Utah, and SW Colorado.
