OneZeroFive Added a reply to Can Anything Replace the Joy of Moto?

I'm trying to find the feeling of road racing/track days in riding moto/off-road. I find it pretty difficult (given my skill) to find the flow state that I was accustomed to on road courses. If it's in the budget, I'd highly recommend giving it a shot. That's the only reason I'm not still doing it.

I have a desk job, so it might be differnet but both times I've missed work due to injury (collarbone and ACL), I basically told my doctor how much time I needed to miss or wanted to miss, and they just signed off on it. My ACL it could have been 3 months, I think, but I had them just do two weeks since that was the minimum requirement for short-term disability at my work. As long as you're physically able to do the job, your doctor should work with you or find another doctor who will. Now, if you...

It's a good track. They prep it well. It's in a relatively tight space, so it's a bit jumpy, but everything is vet-friendly. They do break up practice into 3 groups, but the first hour is typically open. From San Jose, it's the only thing you've got within an hour unless you want to ride off-road (Metcalf or Hollister).

OneZeroFive Added a reply to Alpinestar Tech Air - Barcia A1 crash

Point on the doll where Alpinestars hurt you? I'd be curious as to what protective pieces you ride with (if you ride) as you could literally use that argument against any piece of protection. Barcia himself has credited his lack of injuries thanks to Tech-Air MX. That's not Alpinestars saying that. That's the dude himself who has probably had multiple...

OneZeroFive Added a reply to School me on 4-stroke engine rebuilds

I did my first 4 stroke top end on my 350 a few years back. Service manual and buying the right tools made things go smoothly. Highly recommend buying an ultrasonic cleaner if you don't have one. I used it to clean up valves and other internal parts. YouTube is your friend too.
I've raced it the last 2 years. It's a good course! Some technical side hill riding and decent downhills. Some super fast sections too. Not a boulder-heavy course, but there's a small creek section that's pretty easy to navigate. Should be good conditions and I saw they cut some new trail in. I raced Wilseyville up that way a couple...

OneZeroFive Added a reply to The Cost of Jerseys and Pants in 2025

11/19/2025 7:36am
Cost of doing business has gone up, whether that's paying the design team, sourcing overseas, or paying athletes. I will say, grabbing a brand's high-end pant/jersey and comparing it to their entry level, there is a massive difference in technical features and fit. I have experience in all the brands you mentioned. Gear has never vented better and fit better...

I had a '24 YZ450FX and struggled getting it setup. It was great on the MX track and faster, wide open courses, but I could not get the thing sorted in tighter stuff. It was just too much off the initial crack of the throttle even with a Vortex ECU, hydro clutch, and taller gearing. I moved on to a...

I understand, I got a Beta 450RX. (1st year model, small production run, and a new segment for the boutique Italian company) I wouldn't have rolled the dice on it if I didn't personally know atleast a dozen people having excellent experiences with their Betas. I think Beta has their 2 strokes dialed. The 450 had a couple small issues that were easily fixed and has been a great bike. (~50 hours and counting). Having recently owned both a KX450 and YZ450, I'd say the quality is better than the KX but a tick off the mark of the YZ...

Insurance isn't our issue, thankfully. It's time. Jason and Bryan both have a multitude of other projects going on concurrently, and there are just a few things left - on the infrastructure side - that have to happen before any big, big moves are made. We will be announcing some more limited ride days on the youth, and hopefully vet, tracks for November. Full tilt opening is still TBD, but obviously in the works. Bottom line, we're not going to open until everything is correct from safety, to operations, and everything in between. We want this to be a country...

I took my kid to Glen Helen last weekend for the final round of a Swapmoto series. He didn't get great starts or throw down the fastest laptimes, but he beat a few guys. Some of those 125 Beginners were fast! Anyway, it was cool for me to see him graduate from "rider" to "racer," 40 years after I did.
