So I picked up motocross last year at the ripe age of 39. I can’t afford a Corvette so a dirt bike was the next best thing to succumb to my midlife crisis. I'm 43 and in arguably the best shape of my life. Abs. Muscles. Been a lifter for 25 years. Weight has fluctuated depending on my goals, but I'm currently 181 lbs and lean. And I regularly see overweight guys that light up the smokes and crack a beer shortly after whooping my ass in a long, hot moto. Drives me nuts. I don't race against anyone that LOOKS like I do and I know I'm in better "shape" than anyone on the line with me in the 30 and 40 class, but it boils down to seat time and technique...

I checked one out at a hotel fitness center and TBH thought it was overpriced junk. IMHO a better quality stationary or a trainer for a real bike and the Zwift app is the way to go.

If you want to lose weight fast you should cut carbs completely, it puts your body in a state called ketosis. I am doing that at the moment, it’s tough, carbs are in a lot of the foods I love, but I have been cooking some great easy meals too and I’m feeling amazing lately. Just google the keto diet, it’s an easy to follow concept. Good luck!!

I find it interesting that some of the people on this forum ride dirt bikes. Riding is dangerous, you can die and have permanent disabilities. There are many ways to have any one of these dangers happen to any of us at any time, everyday. People can be extreme in both directions with their thoughts and actions. I am an adult and aware of the virus around us. Am I going to put my life on hold till someone tells me it is safe to live? Absolutely not! I will be careful as possible and be aware of my surrounds...
