I've said it before on here, but I find this decision by some of the riders baffling. Leaving aside the fact he stands accused of stealing more than $600k, he's also clearly completely unhinged - likely from drugs. Imagine sending this guy in to negotiate something for you? He's in no condition to negotiate his latest bag of meth or the hourly rate of his latest 'babysitter' let alone take care of business deals for motorsport professionals.

I believe this is exactly what is going on in his mind, except the Lawrence's didn't ruin his life. He ruined his own by being a grubby thief that got caught and now he's turning the whole thing into some kind of sick revenge crusade and trying to paint himself as the victim from something that resulted entirely from his own actions. I think he's crossed a threshold and is beyond help at this point. He tarnished his own name from the beginning and now it's literal mud.

Not here to glaze (isn't that what the cool kids say now?) ML or Matthes, but refusing to be used by Mirtl in his nervous-breakdown fueled scorched earth campaign isn't a lack of journalism. It's common sense. Matthes had Mirtl on immediately after this broke, and gave him the benefit of the doubt...he hasn't had him on since and doubt he will at this point. "Interviewing" an unhinged and clearly compromised guy like Mirtl is just enabling his delusion.

I would assume there is "dirt" on all the top guys, to some degree. Just because Mirtl is a clown and completely unhinged right now doesn't mean all the info he has is harmless. I would HOPE there is nothing groundbreaking he would be putting out on "episode 2" or whatever his entitled ego is calling it, but to think there is zero chance he has some REAL dirt would be foolish. He was as inside as inside gets before all this hit the fan, so it's possible... That being said, unless he has actual proof...even if he did drop...
