This is telling in itself.... those in control see this as a TV product, not a sport. A sport that takes itself seriously plays their playoff games one way or another whether or not they're on TV or have fans present.

I can’t believe they even hold a race at that venue with those concrete walls everywhere. It’s unsafe in dry weather let alone wet. It’s an accident looking for a place to happen . Just my opinion.

Its not like SMX saved the outdoors like some of you are claiming. There is a handful of guys who only do enough MX to maintain a certain seeding position for the "Playoffs" The only reason this race has any value is for guys already making loads of money to make more money. For those of you claiming its a chance for them to make some money... like all American money, only the rich are getting richer. MX Sports, Feld and the top 5 from each class that already make an assload. Parker Ross and Lux Turner arent making shit...

been sayin for a while now that the points leader(s) going into SMX deserve something??? $200k bonus etc for turning up thru Sx and outdoors.... so deegs and Jcoop deserve better imho.............

Well Tomac said the track was sketchy and a few guys had crashed that could of been life changing. I think a Grand National Champ is a good idea but not more races for the riders, mechanics and teams. Maybe pick a select few throughout the year. SMX title is a joke for tv. Riders only show up for the coin and have stuff all interest.

to add on , honestly for all of this just go back to 17 SX , 12 nats & give the ppl back the MEC cause u basically devalued the playoff series

Same can be said for this thread. You dont like my opinion? Fuck off and move on. The promoters could just as easily dedicate that money to the standings of the grand national champion type thing. The only reason this series exists is to get your ticket money so they can give peanuts to the riders

I was pumped to watch the racing today and thought the track was an awesome layout. But I dont know how you legitimize a race where you only get one moto because they chose an outdoor venue with no lights and a track that was considered too dangerous to race if rained. There's $1.5m on the line and they just cancel half the event. I understand there were weather circumstances but this just seems extremely amateur.

They should throw the whole round, its 1/3rd of the championship. It really is a joke. They have places with lights, that are indoors.

If you needed any more evidence that beyond the money nobody cares about these playoffs..... there it is.....

A whole lot of build up for a crap track, a bunch of injuries, and half a day of racing. Weather can't be helped but damn, what an anticlimax Hopefully the next round isn't as sketchy and the weather plays ball
