I'm most likely going to run with the technically correct shorty that was used on the '1E' Vegas Shootout bike that I'm replicating, but I got lucky to get ahold of this race-used silencer off Carmichael's 98 MXdN bike from Foxhill! It's a really cool piece of history so I may just have to park it on the wall on display. It's a larger diameter pipe, and longer than stock to help deal with the FIM noise regs. It still has the pink marking from tech inspection with RC's #23 marked into it.

Emig Racing billet triple clamps.

In 98, Factory Kawasaki and Team PC both used parts made by Gary Emig (Jeff's Dad) under the brand Emig Racing. Emig Racing billet axle blocks and a billet clutch perch (that looks stock at a glance). It used the stock level/adjuster/rubber but had a nylon sleeve to help in a crash and was all machined from billet. I'm not sure if they were sold to the public back then but they're a really cool 'up-close' detail. I have the 1-1/8" one piece Pro Circuit bar clamop somewhere too that I think was made by Gary.

It’s gonna take some fancy footwork to get some weight off - pipe silencer, lighter axles swingarm pivot footpegs, lighter battery, lighter tires. For reference the (claimed) dry weight of the Beta RX350 is 220.5lbs

Is the quoted kx327 weight with or without fuel? Ktm is without and I thought the Japanese usually quoted with fuel.

I think somewhere in the 100 page thread there was a comment that the bike was pulled back because it wasn't fast enough and (??!!!) they were upping the displacement to 325ccs. Some pretty good prognosticating.....
