As someone who raced motocross many years, watched it/kept up with it all my life, who knows a lot about the sport and the riders past as well as present, i find Rutledge Wood to be of no use to me or the sport. I cant see him through the eyes of a casual fan or viewer with minimal knowdge of the sport, but through my eyes, he's just someone irritating as fuck who never shuts the fuck up. Start by getting a new producer and director. Worked on plenty of live TV crews and this is really where it all starts. The decisions made during the broadcast are horrible.

I find it interesting how I just paid $100 for the MotoGP stream for the year and I feel like I got a bargain, and I feel like I'm an appreciated customer. When I pay the same $100 for SX and I feel like I'm a burden they have to deal with because the show is being made not for "core" who they suspect will watch anything, but for those who are apparently not fans. Guess which one of the two is more successful in attracting new fans.

There are some things I dont understand. Like the "new audience" and " new viewers" thing. Someone is either into it, or they arent. You cant shove something down someones throat and expect them to like the taste. Just seems to me that their way of appealing to viewers is backfiring on them. New or old.

Take a page from the team that produces, broadcasts and livestreams Red Bull Straight Rhythm. That is a proper and entertaining benchmark for the SX broadcast to shoot for. What supercross is today, as far as production value and quality event coverage, is vastly inferior — and you all know that! Quit defending and accepting mediocrity because that’s what we’ll keep getting if nobody says or does anything to prompt change.

I do like the idea of just calling the race when the racing is happening. But you're correct about not being mediocre, your complaining is top notch!

Since I pay for Peacock TV to watch SX.....I also tune in to Nordic skiing while I’m on the rowing erg. The way the euro’s cover it is: solid no break broadcast. Multiple cameras around the course. (Like covering a 10K XC event through the woods, etc), show notes annotated on the screen, results and pertinent information scrolling at appropriate times, but NO announcing. It is as you are a spectator attending the event. You hear everything that is happening. But no one spoon feeding and selling you something. I like this way better than an “entertainment broadcast” like American...
