That bike is definitely worth fixing up! I cant comprehend why so many people wont invest some money to bring these 2 strokes back to life. They dont make them anymore and once they are gone all we will have left is 4 strokes! It amazes me people just abuse and destroy these bikes then just part out and junk them. In the last 3 years I have restored a 2000 Kawasaki KDX220, a 1997 Honda CR500 and a 1996 Kawasaki KDX200. I'll take a 90's / 00's era 2 stroke over any new bike. Well the Yamaha YZ250 is...

That's amazing man! It's pretty crappy how people just neglect these older bikes and don't give a shit about them, so many of them out there. I can't wait to get this thing back together. Keep up the builds

I've always wanted to build an MC kx125 and my lack of patience ended up with me buying a 1991 ...... I know it's not a 1990 kx125 for 150.00. I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel on this build.... a lot of pics on the way.. haha

4/5/2020 1:20am In terms of stock bikes, I always wanted a 2005 KTM 125 Rattray replica. Never heard a stock bike sound so crisp. As for lusting after factory bikes, it would be TP199's 2001 rm125 and JS259's 2003 kx125.

Since it's a little slow nowadays in our little dirt bike world and since I have some free time, I decided to work on my second project bike... Here are some progress photos... 
Bought this 2000 YZ125 for $1200 while I was doing my first project bike, the 2003 YZ250... 
The idea was to build it kinda like the bike I raced in 1998 in the West Coast series... 
I got most of the parts vapor blasted. Found some similar old school blue Applied triple clamps on eBay. Got the frame powder coated using a powder...

Sorry to push our own vid, never posted one of our vids on Vital before but felt this is a video worthy of posting on this forum: It's a vid of Jan Spliethof, who will be racing the Dutch Masters in the 500 class on a Honda CR 500 2 stroke. So that is in the class with all the GP riders like Herlings, Coldenhoff, Paulin etc. All assuming Corona isnt ending the season early obviously...

Got a little time to clean it up today and do a little work on it. I put the stock gas tank back on it, peeled the backgrounds off the side plates, cleaned the air filter, put on fresh grips, and washed it up as good as I could get it for now. Definantly looks way better already IMO. Sometime this week I’ll go over everything and make sure everything is tight, change the oil and rear tire and start setting everything up.
