12/27/2014 4:02am Several factory teams have dark engine cases like that. I would guess they are light weight magnesium parts that get coated to prevent against oxidization (if that's the right -ization??). Or unless it's a thermal dispersant coating to get rid of heat from the engine. Happy to be corrected though.

11/15/2014 10:50am Funny, when I was younger I wasn't a big fan of that style/design/colour way of Splitfire Kawasaki. Now I'm older, I think they look awesome! 03 is better still, I reckon.

11/15/2014 10:35am Are you going to keep the stock hubs? Be nice if you could turn them on the lathe to remove the casting marks and then have them re-done in that lovely mag brown colour. Unless you were going to get some mag brown Talon hubs or similar?

11/15/2014 10:30am I would imagine EvoMX in the UK would also be able to make up some PC graphics. They've done a fair few Splitfire graphics for 00's shape and also the newer 03+ shape, so they are used to dealing with older team graphics.

11/14/2014 10:40am I love reading peoples bike rebuild threads, but the ones I love reading most are those where the person is going crazy with attention to detail by making their own parts for the bike. 11/12/2014 11:02am The stock 2003 KTM 250sx (apparently) made 51bhp. So 11 years of R&D later, I'm sure it wouldn't be hard for them to get to 56bhp.

5/4/2014 3:39am mx295 - that's the bike in question! I already had that picture saved. The reason I wanted the article from the magazine was because they were testing that bike (which IMO, is the best looking bike ever - and I'm a diehard kx125 fan)
