I've always wanted to build an MC kx125 and my lack of patience ended up with me buying a 1991 ...... I know it's not a 1990 kx125 for 150.00. I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel on this build.... a lot of pics on the way.. haha

Dang mbp...you have good taste in MX bikes. After you're done with the KX, can you throw together a 1981 YZ 250...like the one in my profile picture ? Thanks. lol

Cool, what did you do to get the blue anodising off the forks? Oven cleaner or just polishing?

I often wonder when I’m doing a rescue build as I call them how someone can just let a rig go to garbage like that.
Like how hard is it to just wash the damn thing?
Grease some stuff occasionally?

I soak anodized parts in warm water and lye and then wipe off and polish.

It boggles my mind man. To me it's no different than brushing your damn teeth or taking a shower... but I really like dirt bikes. Haha

I am predicting a lot of nice bikes, a lot of babies, a lot of bad hair cuts, a lot of divorces, all the side effects of Covid-19, nice job with the build, not long now from the looks of it! 👍🏼

PS, double check your cylinder head before ordering a piston, if it has 1 dowel pin it is a 1990 if it has 2 it is 1991, I nearly found out the wrong way as the years can not be switched over, I checked Kawasaki diagrams to confirm!

Wow nice work! I love seeing these classics brought back to life. The 90's era bikes are my favorites! My last build was a 96 KDX200 that was badly neglected. Some of these bikes I can't even comprehend how people actually rode them in that condition.
