I watched the Keefer segment. So many variables to evaluate a bikes chassis… East coast/ west coast… suspension setup… tires… ect. No way I could come off my personal bike with 50-75hrs and feel comfortable on a new bike. Usually takes me a good 8-15 hrs of riding to get new bike feeling the way I want it to feel. It’s always good to hear what other riders such as Keefer, have to say about a bike, but ultimately you have to make your own evaluation..For the record… on the East coast vs West coast tracks… the Northeast did not...

I've owned race tracks for 12 years. We went from our best year ever to our worst year ever. If you do it, do it because you love it. That's all I can say on the subject.

Then don't ask for advice and expect it all to be positive. But hey, you have a business plan in a business you know absolutely nothing about so what do we know. I like hamburgers, but I can admit I know nothing about what it takes to run a restaurant. People that know the business aren't being negative because they are worried about you opening a track in Missouri. They are telling you exactly what they wished somebody had told them. I worked at tracks full time from 1987 until 1996 before going out on my own and running over...

It's a tough gig for sure, I have not owned but helped my dad manage one for a short period of time. It is very labor and time intense. You should have knowledge on the lay of the land, how to maintain and work on heavy equipment, know how to weld, knowledge of pumps and small engines. How to operate heavy machinery. Basic plumbing knowledge for drainage. Understand the customer and be willing to listen to endless complaints with a smile. Forget about riding because you will not have time to or be too tired from taking care of the...

I'll give it a go... - Seat bouncing is a real thing but not in the way Teefus was arguing it... - If a rhythm has a single, then table-top, then a single...and the table can be used as a on-off or a full landing, it can be considered a quad. - Only people arguing what is and isn't a quad are the guys not even doing them. - Two strokes, four strokes, electric, pedal power, etc are all fun. None suck, they all have their time..place and enjoyment factor. - Wheelie boys are horrendous for our sport / industries...

This is where this series gets even sketchier. The teams all signed up, paid their fee whatever it is to be a “license holder”. Then the series goes out and pays top talent to beat the riders the teams went out and hired. Roczen was placed on a team after being bought by the series promoters. I’d be pissed if I was a team owner. If I’m Motovoncepts and I’m on board months ago with Brayton and Friese and I paid to be there……then the people I paid undermine me with high $$ wildcards? Bringing in Tomac to whip my...

It is really revealing a lot of character as people ridicule Chad for racing and now getting hurt (I told you so !!). Next time you want to criticize the guys on the line remember this.

I basically agree with what you are saying, It's the fact that if my spouse is lying in a hospital bed the last thing i am doing is running to my phone to capture and publicize that particular moment. The fact that life now is portrayed through social even if it exploits a particular situation is fine as long as it gets clicks. To me that's very frightening and exploiting those kids in a very vulnerable situation. But that is only my perspective. And is an overall sincerely precious moment that will be remembered for sure. Just seems like exploitation...

those kids are receiving an education few will receive. they are making memories i'm going to assume you wouldn't be able to provide to your own kids. their platform is worthwhile enough that you lost time out of your day to comment on it. but, you do you.

I’d imagine that’s a picture that they’ll cherish having for a long time as a family. You have a dad teaching his kids how to handle themselves when things don’t go their way, even if it’s at no fault of their own, because sometimes you can do absolutely everything right and things still go wrong. That’s an important lesson in life, and Chad’s showing them how someone with a mature and positive mindset handles themselves. Growing up watching Reedy in the RC/Stew days he definitely wasn’t always that way, but he’s clearly matured with age and is passing that wisdom...

What’s always made me scratch my head is why so many parents with a deep well of resources at their disposal allow teams to dictate their kids career timelines, bike set up etc. You can have Twisted, XPR etc. build you a pro level engine, Enzo/PC/FC/REP do your suspension etc. and you can build a bike as good or better than what Team Green or Star is going to give an amateur. Your kid can win any amateur national on that bike, and if a paying pro ride is his goal, turn some heads on that same bike outdoors. There...

Yeah it’s weird. The guy raced less than 2 years ago in a SX and did well. He got a top 5 on a non factory bike. He was not the top in the series though. Mookie was his teammate and finished 6th I think overall. Regardless the guy finished top 10 on seven different occasions with two 6’s and 5th! That’s speed.

He had a really solid season for MCR in 2020. He took off in 2022 to become a cop. That’s probably smart to acquire a backup skill. He also became a dad that year as well. Life is a lot longer than what Moto can provide, He then tried to sign and ride last year and got hurt. It isn’t some crazy story.

Juan was a great guy. I first met him years ago at Pala when he first started riding. He would come out and race CALVMX in those days. I had a string of bad luck with rods breaking on bikes, Woke up in the hospital on the last one, hung up the riding boots for 3 years. Got back in to riding and saw Juan at Barona, we reconnected and would text “ Barona today?” By this time he could ride. We would text back and forth about bike settings and suspension etc. He would send me video of his...

Juan was so excited last November when his son Ricardo got to meet Jett Lawrence at Hondas test track. Honda wanted to film a commercial using young kids who ride Honda’s (Juan had gotten his son Ricardo a Honda 110 and was teaching him to ride and he was a natural.) Through some industry connections they invited Juan and Ricardo out to do the filming. Jett is Ricardo’s favorite rider and he was thrilled. In the pictures, Juan is the one giving the thumbs up. Juan was so excited for the MXoN and he talked my ear off about it...

I was there today and in that race. I didn’t see the crash. We came into the section of the track where he was down, and they red flagged us off. They were doing CPR on the poor guy and I could tell by the panic in their faces and body english that things were grave. The story I heard was he went super long on the step up after the hip jump, bounced his head off the cross bar(possibly losing consciousness) and then whisky over the velodrome turn and into the REM side. Somehow his bike also hit a...
