Kenny Boy Started a new thread 04 yz250, 09 yz250f swingarm swap
9/5/2022 6:24am I just bought a 2009 yz250f swingarm to put on my 2004 yz250, I read on another thread something about having to mod and/or the frame to get the newer style linkage to fit.I'm just seeing if anyone here knows anything about the swap to a steel frame. I got a 09 swingarm, complete linkage, and 25mm axle on the...

7/22/2020 3:31pm The disc screws are HRC titanium type, but have a 45 ° chamfer for seating on the disc. The wheel hub has 6 screws for the rear disc

7/4/2020 3:13pm FYI - stock steel brackets & screws weigh 92g so my guess is we are saving ~ 90g over the stock base.

7/2/2020 2:28pm Sorry to hear that Zesiger 😐 I hope he gets it to you soon. As for weight he said stock one is 530g WITH the metal brackets (which are heavier than you think) vs 340g for the carbon base with carbon brackets. Not sure how much of that is From the steel brackets so YMMV....

7/1/2020 6:14pm I won't know on DEP for sure unless I do back to back comparison to stock pipe. Going from 100% stock bike with worn top end, clogged stock silencer with 15/45 gearing...yes 15/45 previous owner had. Now it will have Tom Morgan 295cc ported, milled head, DEP Pipe, R304 silencer, Vforce Reeds, 11oz FWW, stock gearing (14/50). I'm sure it will be night and day difference. May do stock pipe comparison some day, but results may be moot since most aren't running Tom Morgan 295cc.

7/1/2020 4:58pm Im in NC, my last ups order took a few extra days than normal. I bet you get it in the next few days. I would really love to hear the stock seat base weight vs this carbon unit.

3/18/2020 9:41am My opinion is to put a half cap full of 2 stroke oil in the spark plug hole, fill with trans oil and install the motor. By the time you install the motor, the clutch will have absorbed oil (make sure you turn the engine over a few times while you are installing the engine). The cork type material absorbs oil like a sponge. I always had spare motors in my race truck in the exact condition yours is in. I'd add trans oil and a shot of two stroke oil and turned the engine over a few time during...
