Hi guys,
I have an awesome opportunity on another trick part for our bikes. If we can get 4-5 people interested I can have Legacy Carbon make us some carbon fiber seat bases for about $126-$130!!! Let me know who is interested & would put a deposit down on one. If we get enough he will make a spot on his website like what we did for the clutch & ignition covers! Let’s get this one done & made too!!! 😎😁😎

Here is an example:

Yeah I know, I was super excited he is on board to get a lot of parts made for these bikes! If we come close to the total amount needed I will order 2 as well to push us over the finish line.

Yea I still have an 04 yz125 I built from the ground up that I was told to never sell. Hell my fiancé wants me to keep my 17 as well but if that’s the case I’ll just have to get a freshie. Depending on how much I like the orange one it might go from a yz to an sx

Is it hard to staple into and hold with the carbon? I had a guts seats and they used Velcro

|

That first image with the think seat is stapled.
But it is a good point maybe have him take a scrap piece the same thickness and put a staple through it see if it causes any spider cracks.
I doubt it will be any harder than the plastic base. I had to take mine to an upholstery shop because nothing I had would go through the plastic base.

I’m in too!!

I may be interested also if anyone can figure out if stapling to the base will work.

If it will fit my 2001 YZ250 I'm in for one

Are the carbon brackets going to be separated or molded in? Any word on staples?

|

2/1/2020 6:11 PM

Separate brackets with ss hardware from what he told me.

|

Got my name on one who else?

|

I will be this afternoon I got to put some money on my card. Any idea if staples are going to work in it?

Just pre ordered 2 as promised. Question, anybody else get charged for shipping? It’s a 50% deposit so nothing is being shipped. Also, after the fact it will be over the minimum price for free shipping.

It added it mine but at checkout it took it back off.
If you were charged I would just give him a call and either arrange refund or reduction on final payment. To be doing this stuff I'd imagine the guy is good to deal with.

We had the same problem with shipping on the the clutch & ignition covers but he fixed it so not to worry.

As for the staples the first go at them at 80psi didn’t go in so he bumped it to 100psi & they still would not penetrate. He is going to try some stronger HD staples & see if those would work & report back.

I want to thank you guys for jumping on this so quick & helping me get it off the ground!
All said & done it looks like I will have the following carbon fiber parts available to the yz crowd through Legacy Carbon:
Seat base
Ignition cover
Clutch cover
Head stays
Exhaust bracket
Power valve cover
Sprocket cover

Not to hijack thread... cdoggy would be awesome if you could talk him into making fmf 4.1 end caps on the muffler. (I’m a husky guy) Preferably blue. I see he has pro circuit and rocket exhaust. Maybe you could talk him into fmf.
Bought a mudflap from him over the holidays. Nothing but happy with how it looks on the bike.

I see they are also taking pre-orders for carbon fuel tanks. Is that price the 50% deposit?

|

2/4/2020 4:16 AM

Sorry but I’m only helping on 2 stroke parts for the yz125-yz250. He already has end caps for both the PC ($53) & FMF ($60) silencers.

As for the tanks the is the total price, $750 CAD = $565 USD. I would contact him directly about those.

Our system automatically removes the $20 shipping charge during checkout. You'll see that each seat base with brackets is $110 pre-order price, however it automatically marked yours down to $100 each to remove the $20 charge. It's a little tricky setting up the pre-orders in our system so this is the best solution we've come up with so far. As you mentioned your order will be over the amount to qualify for free shipping so there will be no shipping charge for you.

Thanks for the kind words, and your bike looks great! We will actually have the FMF 4.1 end caps shortly, just waiting on one to show up here for molding purposes.
