Why does there need to be any class? Sort the riders after practice by speed. Not what they choose to sign up as. Not by engine size or age. Less classes, full gates, closer competition, less time waiting. More people race because there is a good fit for them and it is FUN.

Riders are employees if they are good enough. Employees only exist if the business has customers. Not enough customer's equals less employees. More customer's ( fans ) equals more job opportunities. The desire for them to have a sponsorship doesn't mean fans should be subjected to watching sub par racing. I want to see the best of the best in...

It is broke. Less dirt bikes are sold every year. Tracks are closing. SX races like Houston are dropped after decades due to empty seats. You can't watch it on TV without cable. That is not success. SX is about entertainment, and always was; that's why they put it in a stadium. It started with Flat track in the Astrodome...

It is Professional Racing. There will be more losers than winners. Spectators deserve to see the best race each other. We don't owe the up and comer's a spot on the stage. They have to earn it.

Keeping the points only 1 apart from each other will eliminate the runaway standings eliminating the need for a chase. Running 1 class only in elimination format will get rid of the boredom and slow guys and give different winners. The more rider's expect or demand "private" track time, the worse the problem becomes. Everyone else has to wait. To minimize waiting, the track (and gates) need to be near capacity. When riders not running near the same speed share the track, it is more dangerous. Grouping riders that are the same speed is perfectly fine and should be encouraged...

I have a real knack for killing threads. If track owners want to do whatever they think is best, they have payed for the right. Trying to make more money off of less customers is not a real good long term business model IMO.

Classes are the problem. Everybody wants to win and get a trophy. It's always been like that. Anyone who has been around MX knows to ask "out of how many?" when you say you got 5th. Everyone is a tough guy, but "it's not fair they had a bigger engine" or "yeah but he's a crazy 17 year old and...

The same story at Beta. Top seller is the low priced (and seat height) and gentle 300 Xtrainer with oil injectiion, then the 300rr's which are typically pre sold and finding one in stock can be very tough.

Beta is working on a 125 and a 200 that may be '17 or '18 models. Euro 4 and 5 capable. That could mean FI and street legal. We'll see them probably by the German Intermot show in October.

Parts is no different than any other brand, better than most. Dealers don't stock parts anyway... I have needed 0 parts or warranty the 1st year.

We haven't seen the new '17 release yet from Beta, but they were over $1k less last year than the Austrian choices. With performance and options (BYOB ) equal to or better than KTM/ Husky there or other legitimate choices. It is a great time to be a consumer! 2016 Beta 500 RS
