When you can ride a fuel injected 450 to its max potential then come talk about bikes not being fast enough.

how about a downhill whoops section? that should be faster and break at least twice as much bones as a standard one.

You guys missed a detail. It has been established that OP was being sarcastic.

Easier and cheaper to put people on 500 2 strokes.
Pastrana went 93 MPH through the whoops.

He went so fast they were dirt clods not whoops.

The start straight is usually long enough to benefit from more power. They could have 2 settings. A normal setting and 100 HP setting for the start complete with retractable wheelie bar.

What he said + some nitrous, in 700cc 2-stroke zabel engines.

We'll just strap a Ducati engine into a frame. 205hp should almost be enough.

Technically Daytona is designed by Ricky and he's kind of a rider?

Sarcasm aside, the top class should be open. Let the teams and riders decide what works best for them.

So yes, 2 stroke, electric, squirrels in a cage, rubber band or whatever.

For the young'ns
There was a time when the premier racers in the world raced 500cc 2 strokes. Everything else was a step down in prestige..
I'm convinced that someday the 450cc 4 strokes will be the next big old (beastly) dinosaurs of Moto. They won't sell many of them because they'll be $13 grand, and the smaller bikes will be the go to bike for most racers.
Then we'll see the posts on Vital, bragging about the good old days when real men rode 450s.

The starts are so boring, they could really benefit from a big ol' quad 2/3 of the way down the straight.

I remember when Kenny wasn't jumping the uphill triple at Millville last year. These guys obviously need a LOT more.

We're at the point where we're all used to the mundane speed of modern four-strokes. I think we can all agree that they aren't fast enough.

Was it Millville where the riders were nearly reaching the pedestrian speed of 60mph? That's not nearly fast enough; almost put me to sleep. Why not 70+ mph??

Quad +1 in Supercross; why not quad +2? If you don't like Jet Moto-style rocket ships jumping 80+ feet straight out of a corner, then I don't like you.

What this sport really needs is more danger to make it appealing. Higher speeds seems like a no-brainer.

What about making 550cc direct-injected four-strokes, and having the 450 class usurp the 250s? There's really no excuse for why the premier riders in the world aren't riding bikes that are pushing 90+ hp. We've thrown caution to the wind long ago, it's time to really ratchet-up the depravity.
You seem to be advocating , still, the "pussification of Motocross", TripleFive.

550cc - pathetic. Here's what should be used:

A 1000cc Single Cylinder 4t

Or, perhaps a 1000cc 2t twin, such as the EML Jumbo:

Of course, one could go the 'budget' route and use something as wimpy as a Zabel ZM 700cc 2t single, but, until they 'up' it to 1000cc, well, it remains as just an entry level engine, and, well, we can't have that, can we?Evil Whistling

The fact that people did not detect the sarcasm after reading even half of the first line...oh my..

Much less reading through the entire OP and posting a serious reply...

That someone hasn't 'invented' a Sarcasm font, is puzzling to me.

Might I suggest letters 'dripping'.

There's a job for a bloke like Crush - he's a technoweeny, isn't he? I'll take 33.3% off the top, Crush, if you use anything remotely 'dripping' .....

Of course, my suggestions, as to engine size to make the sport more manly, are absolutely serious.

The only thing more depressing than people that can't detect your sarcasm is when someone posts something so ridiculous you immediately assume he's being sarcastic, only to find out he's not.

Happens all the time unfortunately.
