Reading between the lines it sounds like Eli went straight to the motor home and Ian and others popped in to check on him. Eli told them just leave it to him. I think in Eli's mind there was a de-brief and in Ian's mind Eli isn't talking to them. Semantics. Tomac's social media post is petty and small, but I can see why he'd be a little pissed about that interview. Lewis seemed to work a little jab at Tomac into each question and Ian entertained it. Not to mention when Lewis brought up making room for the Coenen's...

I think that’s what upset him. In the interview with Ian he says they all talked it over but Lewis’ tweet kind of suggests that he just stormed off after the race without saying anything.

I watched that start again at Birmingham and he definitely hit that tuff block hard with his foot. No way we can tell if it hurt him, though. I do know when I hit my 'bad knee' or 'bad foot', it does hurt and gets in your head some. It can slow you down for a while. Looks like a possibility for sure. Kenny could not beat Eli before this moment, as far as I remember. And now, all of a sudden, Eli can't keep up with him. And I don't think Tomac had been this far off in qualifying...

Right…fastest qualifier to 35 seconds off the pace in the main. I’m sure we will find out in 2 months what the deal is though.

I think it has more to do with only needing to hold Webb off for a couple of laps to hang onto 5th. Doubt it had anything to do with who it was behind him.

What kind of damage could a hay bale cause to an ankle/knee. The 450 main start at Birmingham, Tomac smacks a hay bale with his left foot pretty good. Timeline makes sense if this was the incident.

My thoughts on holding Webb off and not J. Coop is because Tomac is aware that Webb is still a title threat...J. Coop is not. Edit: Just looked at the points. Webb is farther off than I thought.

This is similar to the year at Atlanta when he dabbed his foot and tweaked his knee. He had a couple races where he lost the aggression and speed, but never confirmed an injury until a few weeks later. Someone mentioned it earlier, Tomac isn’t pushing through the rhythms like he usually is, even in the beginning of the race...
Eli should take this as a win based on his previous results at Indianapolis. This is probably one of his worst venues, and tonight is one of, if not his best result. Which shows you how much he is gelling with his bike.

In before Webb 4th places himself to another triple crown win and everyone calls him crafty even though he got smoked and just got lucky

Violence against women should never be considered acceptable. Self defense is something entirely else. It appears Jason was being accused of possible infidelity or inappropriate behavior by the victim (wife), which lead ultimately to his overly aggressive actions outside the home, to recover a laptop. This is significant. Taking this outside almost guaranteed neighbors would become witnesses. Yet, he still did it. We understand that the victim chose not to pursue her original complaint. Very common in those types of situations. HEP may have either found out in-directly or Jason offered this information. HEP has to do something in response...

I could look at the same data and argue the opposite. Eli went into the 1:17s when he needed to in order to make passes, and backed off a few percent because he had a lead going into the last lap. 🤷‍♂️

That's a fair question. We have seen similar situations happen when someone runs off the track and AMA is determining if they maintained speed or accelerated. Unfortunately our perspective of acceleration and theirs may not always align...that's the reality.
I just recommend you to look at the last photo. Take in consideration of no notice, the flagger removed the flag and tried to put it back out, and Ken is mid air probably over jumping the landing...with all that, ask your self this. Is it reasonable to expect a rider to shut it down in that moment. For Webb.

Thanks for putting this together. I fully agree with the AMA cutting the 450 guys a break here. The 250 one is extremely frustrating, and I frankly will not believe that the lead in light thing ever existed before last Saturday until I see hard evidence. Something so weird about it.

The flag was partially visible, big difference then being fully displayed prior to the first double, like Hunter had. You’re just going to ignore how they were all over jumping the first double, pretty much landing right on the face of the finish line take off. I’ll grab my popcorn when I watch you roll off the throttle.
That is an interesting take. So with your concept, if the flag comes out when a rider is at the base of a take off they should be penalized. Or I guess slam on the breaks and hope for the best? There is a reason why the AMA is able to make judgement calls, and this specifically is one of...
Flag Out - Right corner of picture. No yellows flags, no lights. This is a still shot after Hunter rolling, yellow flags stop waving, and lights turn off. Official folds/grabs flag with opposite hand, flag no longer fully displayed....no lights, no yellows. Official starts to drop flag again. Flag fully displayed again. Not 100% sure why 1 still shot or...
